Hi Sue and Perse,
I suggested that to my son when he ( neighbour ) was with his first partner, I think he's had at least 3 in 5mths, she was very loud ( like the women in a film ) do you know which one I mean can't think of the name, but you need special equipment to pick the sound up, ordinary tapeing equipment doesn't pick up the sound properly, something to do with blocking out background noise, it only work's if you are in the same room. Sorry not prepared to be in same room lol.The first time I phoned the police was because him and first partner were like rabbit's ( all time's of day and night in which ever room available ) very embarrising having to listen to it. It got beyond a joke when my 3 grand-daughter's were here one day and it was going on above living room. I had to turn the TV up very loud so they didn't hear. The police went up to them and told them what we could hear, she just giggled as we could hear her, when the police came back down to us I said, so she think's it's funny doe's she and the police women said, I think she laugh's when she is nervous as she seemed quite embarrised when we told her, she couldn't have been that embarrised as they continued the same thing a few day's later. We have been in touch with the Council who are the one's who deal with these matter's and said if it continue's they may come and set up the special equipment, my son is going to ring them again tomorrow and tell them that we are still having a problem. I myself will be ringing the houseing manager and telling her that I am fed up with it all and that I'm not prepared to put up with it any longer.

Good Morning/Evening ,

It was a beautiful day here today. Brilliant winter sunshine, clear blue sky, the sea was very calm, the snow covered mountains across the bay were a perfect backdrop. This afernoon there was a pale silvery moon high in the sky - looked beautiful against the blue of the sky.
The kind of day you remember, but it was bitterly cold.
Tomorrow we have a severe weather warning with very heavy snow forecast......I feed the wild birds every day with wild bird seed that I buy by the sackfull - usually there are sparrows, chaffinches, greenfinches, blue tits, great tits, a robin, blackbirds, sometimes a lone starling, and of course the jackdaws who are really greedy.
Recently the birds have been joined by a squirrel and they don't seem to mind him being there.

Diane I'm pleased to know that you did actually get some sleep last night.

Sue,
I've got several books which need reading. On Wednesday We are going up to Barnstaple to see my Aunt and Uncle. My sister and Brother in law etc are still down here staying in Topsham. On Thursday I'm going in town to meet one of my work freinds who hasn't got any holiday left and thrn it's New years Day.

Hi Sue....... That was a nasty scare you had, I can understand you would be worried - thoughtful of your daughter's partner to put your mind at rest.

Hi Pat.....Godd to see you back, hope you enjoyed Christmas with your sister.....enjoy the rest of your holiday.

Hi Perse........Enjoy the shops....take care

Hi Berona, Sorry about your cramps, that's agony isn't it. I know the quinine helps, but also heard it was caused by insufficient salt in your diet, I don't know if there's any truth in that.

Tec

Hello, Tec, Berona and Diane:-))

Berona - I was told a banana every night will help with cramps. Something to do with boosting your potassium levels. It must be very annoying.

Diane - you must keep onto the Council as you really shouldn't have to put up with it. He and his girlfriends sound very ....mmmm.....vigorous:-)

Tec - how lovely to have all those birds come into your garden. Of course we have a different lot of birds come around here but there is always the ever-present sparrows.

Pat - sounds like you have some lovely days ahead of you. A number of my ancestors lived in Topsham for awhile before heading over to Cornwall.

Hi Tec,
Yesterday we came back to Exewter via Portland Bill. I'd never been there before. It was so windy so all my cobwebs disappeared!

Sue,
I know Topsham's only down the road from me but I don't go there that often!

Tecwyn Report 28 Dec 2009 21:54

Pat I remember going to Portland Bill when I was about 17 yrs old - just after the Romans left - I seem to remember a sort of causeway that juts out into the sea that you could walk along - gosh that was a long time ago

Sue.......I love the Australian birds, wish we had them, I particularly like Sulpher Crested Cockatoos, and Galahs.
I was once affectionately known to my Aussie mates as "The Pommie Galah".........don't know why?

Pat is it still only a village or is it quite large now?

SueMaid Report 28 Dec 2009 21:56

Tec - you wouldn't like the cockatoos if you have fruit trees in your yard. They are often a nuisance and very noisy - but lovely to look at. We have galahs around here as well as kookaburras, lorikeets, rosellas, magpies and of course....sparrows.

Sue,
I think Topsham has grown but I'll google it for you.

Tec,
I'm not sure where I went yesterday but I saw the lighthouse and I saw where the prison is.

PatriciaAnn Report 28 Dec 2009 22:05

Sue,
On google Topsham is described as a town and the population in the 2001 census was 5,023

Thanks for that, Pat. Some of the ancestors ended up in Dawlish and someone told me that the poet Keats mentions it in a poem. I must look it up.

OVER the Hill and over the Dale,
And over the Bourne to Dawlish,
Where gingerbread wives have a scanty sale
And gingerbread nuts are smallish.
