Linda - When I said "Not my kind of thing Linda" I was of course talking about the TV series "The Hustle". Just in case anyone misunderstands.

Jolly good news about the scan - I hope very much much that all goes well for them - do grand mothers still sit knitting matinee sets - am I showing my age by that question?

Linda - I'm so pleased everything is looking good. July will come around very fast.

Allan - we're not happy no matter what the weather. Are you getting any smoke from the fires? They are such a worry.

Tec - it will be wonderful for you to see Plas Llanmihangel on the telly especially as they will show inside and well as outside. You must take the Duchess there for a nice weekend.

Good Morning Allan,

I know what you mean about slippery roads after a long dry spell, although It is a very long time since we had those conditions.

Are you "resting" now that the panto season has finished?

Goodevening/ morning all

Linda you and OH were very lucky hun, road's are treterous here too, Liverpool have run out of grit but I come under Knowsley and there has been nothing on the new's about our Council running out so most of the road surfaces I use are being grited. Congratulation on the oncoming event very nice a Summer baby.

Tec that mountain pass sound's as bad as the horse-shoe pass in winter, I know that isn't the one you are talking about as I know it is in my birth place LLangollen Denbighshire N Wales and you are in S Wales hun.

Sue you must be worried about your cousin as I am about my dad, he was on the phone to me about half an hour ago saying he had had to go to the dentist and if he hadn't had the rubber tip on his walking stick he would have fell over on the ice a few time's today, he will be 85yrs old on the 29th of this month. I wish he could get back to Liverpool so he was nearer to me.

Sue, Wouldn't it be good if we could make a bloc booking and all go there for a week - you could all do the local grave yards for me - prize for whoever digs up the most ancestors............

Good morning Sue. No we are not affected by smoke.

When Calm do controlled burns around the Sate Forests we are then affected, but it does lead to some magnificent sunsets.

Ironically when we do have controlled burns, the denizens of Perth complain bitterly about the haze and say such burns should be stopped. I wonder if they will now change their tunes!

Tec, no rest for the wicked: I'm now in the Great GR Egg Hunt, playing a troll, Long John Silver and the buffoon.

Tec, I think actually digging up the ancestors may be illegal,

Diane, you must be worried about your dad, my two friends who fell are younger than me.so it is so easy to fall

Hi Diane,
I am very familiar with the Horseshoe Pass at Llangollen. My mother lived in Wrexham and I used the pass to visit her for many years - I've had some hairy moments there too in the winter.

I was in Llangollen about a month ago

I don't live in South Wales, though I was born there.
I actually live in Mid Wales on Cardigan Bay in Gwynedd.

Hi Allan
you came on while I was posting hun, wouldn't it be nice if we could send a bit of our cold to you and you send some of your heat to us and then we would all be happy lol.

Tec your said about knitting matinee set's, I have found not as many grand parent's as used to do knitting in fact there are those that can't even knit, I am one of those that doe's knit and when my first grandchild was on the way I knitted for 7month's and made load's of thing's I also crocheted a shawl for the christening and made cot set , crib set and christening gown ( I did gown with-out a pattern ) my daughter had 3 girl's and the gown and shawl were used for all 3 girl's. Funny you should mention knitting as there is a thread up reacently about crochet and I went on it and peep's got talking about knitting on it.

Linda,
I wouldn't wish to physically dig up my ancestors - I am rather squeamish, and they might come to haunt me.

Allen, They are doing auditions for Othello at the RSC, Royal Shakespeare Co..........but you need to be available in Stratford upon Avon I think......can you make it?

Sorry Tec for some reason I thought you were in the South of Wales.
LLangollen is were I want to go and live as soon I possibly can. I love the steam train station there and I was born in the cottage Hospital just a short walk from the Station, My BM stayed with a friend in the hill's to the left of the station when you are facing it. Her friend's surname was Matthew's I think.

Yes Linda I do worry about my dad a lot as he has no family near him, in fact out of 6 of his children there is only myself and one of my sister's who he is in contact with and I am the only one who see's him and that is only when he is able to drive to mine.

Diane Report 4 Jan 2010 22:07

Tec if you use bamboo needle's you don't have that problem lol. My daughter bought them for me when I was doing a lot of knitting as when you use steel one's for a long time for some reason they make your hand's pain so useing bamboo one's is better as you don't have that problem, I think it is something to do with static caused by the steel one's.

I have no wish to dig up your ancestors, Tec:-)) I remember saying to my mother when we took her over to the UK that I would like to go to a couple of cemeteries and dig up some of the family - and she told me that she didn't find that funny at all and to wipe the smile off my face:-))

Diane Report 4 Jan 2010 22:11

LOL Allan, they are rounded unlike chop stick's that have a flat side so would be very difficult hun.
