Hi Mau, ladies :)

A few ideas from the internet and a writing magazine

- Write using on of the following phrases as your first line

"After the door shuts and the footsteps die..."

"Collapsing under a canopy of green..."

Write a poem that describes a walk through a house from the perspective of a child.

Use the following sentences to begin: "It's not the street I usually go down. But for some reason, that day I turned down a different road."

Autobiography. If you had 15 minutes to tell someone who you are, what would you tell them?

Write about a place you know well, the real place not the 'tourist version', leave in the gritty bits.

A poem about someone in history, how they might have felt ...for example we all know Churchill's speeches "we will fight them on the beaches..." etc, did he have any doubts before D Day, did he ever consider not winning? Did he sometimes think, I should have left this to someone else to do?

Wow, some good ideas there Rose.

I wonder if anyone remembers that the first line of New Beginnings came from just such an exercise. (So I mustn't look at these ot I might get distracted, but I shall make a note.)

Our new member has asked to remain anonymous on here for now, so I will be sending out her name when i send out what I write this week ( nothing to do with a green canopy after last nights efforts ! lol) and will forward work to her and vice versa.
