In the absence of mother (SueMaid), of course you are welcome Dizzi. You have a most delightful sense of the ridiculous, and so you fit perfectly on this board.
Welcome. Now if you can find an Aussie connection, For example, do you watch Neighbours, Home and Away or Kylie Minogue? Or perhaps Dame Edna is more your thing.

Hello Alias

How are you?
Have been talking about you whilst you weren't around. Sometimes there is just me - with my time being ahead of y'all.
Are you deputising for Sue?

HI DIZZIE - MUST REMEMBER TO PUT CAPITAL LOCK ON FOR HER.
HOW'S THE NUDE PAINTING GOING?

Persey

Good morning everyone from sunny but cold Yorkshire. I have so many things to do today that I don't know where to start, so maybe if I bury my head in the sand they will all go away.

Yes I am sure that approach will work.

Ummmm.....what nude paintings?

Of course you're welcome Dizzi - you have connections to Aussie Larrikins!!

Please, oh please, don't do a nude painting of Allan - he has hairy legs.

Persephone

Persephone Report 17 Nov 2009 09:14

And were you in the nude or were they?

We are all Ozzie by some sort of connection Dizzie.

Don't bury yourself in the sand Linda, build yourself a castle instead.

If you don't think you will like what today brings make coffee and brekkie and go back to bed.

Love Perse who was never much good at Philosophy tho I do remember Hobbs and having to do an essay on why he described Man as Nasty. Brutish and Short.

Hello Alison...

Allan said on his ethics thread something about looking at himself in the mirror naked.
All a bit much really closed my eyes and took off. Pity that my OH didn't put patches over my eyes instead of ear muffs on my ears.

I fancy building sandcastles today, but the post just came and I had to fill in another form because the form they sent me last time to fill in was the wrong one.!!!!!!!

What is that saying? something along the lines of, if you pay peanuts, you get monkeys.

I have a convict as well Dizzi, or at least OH does. I have loads of free settlers in Victoria, mine were obviously of the more pious kind.

Anyway OH is making clucking noises because I am still on the computer,so I had better go and show my face, by for now

Good evening Tec

What have you been saying to people?.....you seem to have chased them all away.

Perhaps the girls are still preparing their reports for Sue.: and frantically PM'ing each other to make sure that they all have the same story!!

Blowing a gale here at the moment and wet

Good Morning Allan,........How's you?

Guess you're right about the girls, oh well - bring it on.......

We have had a gruesome day here, like there, it's blowing a gale, some torrential rain, hailstones, and thunder and lightning, and it's cold.

Don't you just wish you were here?

I couldn't get motivated today to do anything sensible, so didn't.
Had a very lazy day, most unlike me, but will make up for it tomorrow.

How is that garden coming on anyway?

Good evening/morning all. ALL? Only two posts to read since last night? Where did everybody go? Did you panic when you saw Sue's thread?

Cold, wet and windy in both Wales and W.A. - I'll stay here to-day. Beautiful at the moment and not a big one on promise - still in the twenties, hopefully.

No, we are not p.m.ing each other to get our stories straight! We don't need to. I notice that you two are staying close, comparing notes! Won't do you any good..

Good Morning Berona,
How lovely to see your greetings in such dulcit tones......

Allan

Allan Report 17 Nov 2009 21:24

Tec,

The garden continues apace. Not much more grasss to go, probably a couple of day's worth of work.

Major problem has been the Jacaranda tree which my OH felled with her trusty chainsaw. The root system was massive and spread in all directions. Have had to chop the roots, many of which were up to 8" in diameter, by hand. That was hard work! Now we have to try to remove the stump.

It was no wonder that the garden was looking daggy...the tree was taking all the nutrients from the soil.

Allan

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 17 Nov 2009 21:30

Allan,
That tree sounds as if it was a bit of a beast. If the trunk is too much of a problem, you can drill holes in it, and fill the holes with a special chemical that sets in a rapid rot.....or but some dynamite....

I lost a big branch off a New Zealand Palm in my front garden today, ripped off by the wind

Tec = I wish, I wish! My mum was runner-up in the Miss Newcastle (NSW) when she was in her teens. She even named me after the girl who became Miss Australia.....but I think I must favour Dad's side, although they weren't bad looking either. Perhaps the mixture of both sides didn't blend so well.
