Sorry Allan - you came on whilst I was into one of my Monalogues.

Alison - hi there - hope they can give you something for the woozies.
Keep upright and hold on tight my sweet.

Wow! I answered Tec's post nine seconds after he posted it - and still got four posts in between us!

Hi Alison, Hope your blood tests go ok, and that you are not hanging about too long in the heat - take care, hear from you later.

Good Morning Allan,
How are you today young man? I bet you're glad you're not sweltering as they are in the Eastern States.
The rain eased off today, but the wind is something else. More heavy rain forecast for tonight. I lay in bed last night listening to the sea roaring up the beach, never heard it like that before. So glad you declined my offer of a passage on the Irish ferry.

My apologies to Alison and Colin,

I did include you in my general hello, but not individually.

Alison I hope that the wooziness goes away. Just looking at the time in WA you are probably at the Dr's already.

I will try to sneak on from work in a couple of hours to see how things are.

Next week is my last week of work for the time being and the one thing that I do know is that I could never do a full time job again!!

That's what this thread has 'the wow factor'

Persey,
Bill Bryson's books do that to you. I've read a few in bed, OH would get very irritated when she was just dropping off and I'd suddenly shriek with laughter. Another book that did that to me was Gerald Durrells book, "My Family and Other Animals"" should you ever see it, do read it.

Yes I know him sold a lot of his books but have not read him.

However, have you read Deric Longden? He got a bafta - as did Thora Hird who played his mother in the Television adaptations of a couple of his books.
I will type up an extract from Paws in the Proceedings and post some time. Now off to do my chores I also will pop in later and check on Alison.

Bye Persephone

As seen in the new isue of Readers' Digest

"A woman's work is never done....perhaps that is why they don't get the same wages as males" ;0))

Not that I agree with that statement

I've not read Deric Longden,
Bye Persey, don't work too long, it's bad for you.

I am having this free insulation installed to-day. Two of my neighbours are having theirs done now and the weather is quite nice - about 22c. However, the same company is doing mine and they rang yesterday, to say the crew will do mine 'between 1 & 4pm'. That's the hottest part of the day - with 40+ coming up!
So I'm out of here now. Have to put some cold drinks and water on the fridge for them and get out to do some shopping early.
Talk to you all later.
'bye for now.

Hello Barbra

Sorry to all for not responding sooner.

Just discussing with OH about the remodelling of the garden and the fact that a proposed new gazebo will require adequate footings!

Berona Report 19 Nov 2009 23:17

Well, I didn't get out yet. I was just about to leave when the crew turned up to do my insulation. Apparently we were all told it would be done this afternoon, but because of the expected temperature, they are doing as much as they can before each roof gets so hot - it would be impossible to breathe up there at that time.
This changed my arrangements - but I can't blame them. Also, my house should be a little cooler than it would have been this afternoon.

WB Berona,

and not that your unexpected re-appearance has anything to do with it, but I must be going.

I hope that your insulation will be of assistance in the current condtions.

Just to make you jealous it is shaping up for a nice mild day here!

Good night/morning all

Regards

Allan

Just sneaking on from the office when I am supposed to be working. Nice and cool here, but I am going out in 45 minutes to be brought up to speed on a job that I will be supervising (Moi!!! *laughs*) tomorrow.
Good to see you Barbara and hope the wars of the roses will be over soon- please don't let me become a thorn between two roses.

Just checked the Weather and found that it was 26.8 at Parramatta at 9am, so I checked my thermometer out in the sun at noon - and it reads 52! Surely it can't be that - although my thermometer works well at all other times. I have put it in the shade to see if there is any change and will check it again at 1pm.
Luckily I have been out and back again - and I'm not going out again! Batts or no batts - my aircon is ON!

You wouldn't believe we were in the same country, would you?

Just checked it again in the shade and it reads 42. That's 10 degrees difference between sun and shade, and I'm sure my thermometer is working properly.
