Berona

Berona Report 18 Nov 2009 22:13

My mother would buy a large leg of hoggett and have it roasted with roast vegies for Saturday lunch - then cold with salad on Saturday evening.
She woud then warm it up for Sunday lunch with boiled veggies, and cold again with salad on Sunday evening. An extra serving from lunch would go into a pie dish for Dad to warm up at work for Monday's lunch, and Sandwiches for him on Tuesday.

In my first year at high school, I had to take cooking and brought home the recipe for Shepherd's pie. That took care of Monday night's meal, with yet another serving in the pie dish for Dad's Tuesday lunch!

Strangely, I never tired of eating lamb in spite of this, and I guess this is the reason why I have always liked variety.

Berona,

OH loves lamb and we have just recenly purchased about 15 kg of loin chops which we have frozen.

I don't mind the odd leg of lamb but chops do nothing for me. Pork chops are a different matter, as is chicken!

Hello, I am just running in then out again.
I have spent hours today on the computer, sorting out some work for the tourist office. When I look in the mirror, I can see the word "mug" stamped on my forehead.

It is almost bedtime and I am tired, but I just wanted to say Hello.

I wonder when Sue is back, soon I hope because I am going to leave you for a few days as well. We are going to London on Friday morning and will be away until Tuesday or Wednesday,

I hope Tec is OK, the rain looks dreadful where he is

Good evening Linda

Don't worry, we all get sucked in. I do myself with an organisation of which I am a member...the reward for doing a job no one else wanted to do?
It was representing the org at the Mayor's Garden Party...the most boring event on the Social Calendar of Bunbury

Oh Allan, you should have asked Berona and I to go in your place. Garden parties are so us

I apologise for my brief visit this evening, but it is time I was safely tucked up in bed. Maybe that is where Tec is. Not in my bed, you understand, but in his, sheltering from the storms.

Goodnight all.

Linda,

I have been in the past, but not for a few years.

This year we have the most boring Mayor imaginable, an ex-State Polly

He has a segment on the Local Radio station and when he speaks, there is no modulation of the voice nor any inflection in the words.

If a recording was played through an Oscilloscope it would appear as a straight line.

The Garden Party is on Dec 5th and I can hardly contain myself

Hi Everyone and Bye Linda,

Well - thank goodness you've stopped carping on about the fish jokes.

I was brought up on mutton. Chicken was for Christmas. I grew up with a wood stove, so we had delicious roasts and yummy crumbed chops. I shall brag now and tell you, that our shearer's cook said that the shearers used to ask her when it was our shearing time as they reckoned our mutton tasted the best.

*grows hugely swelled head*

Hi Alison

I grew up with a normal family :0))

I suppose growing up with a wood stove meant that there was always a warm family welcome :0))

How did the CT scan go, or is it too soon for the results?

I too must "nick orf". I have a lot of stuff to do before my appointment this arvo. Hopefully this radiation oncologist will tell me if my stomach can be radiated (sounds like a tyre, hey).

Have an enjoyable whatever.

Ooh - nearly forgot. I got onto Scotlands People and have the entry for my gg grandmother's birth. It looks like her father was a Tidemaster??? Bit hard to make out. Also got the marriage for another lot, my ggg grandparents. I went through my credits pretty quickly though.

Sigh Ya Narra !!!!!!!

Allan, you're such a nut!!!!!!!!

Today's appointment should give me some results - but as my sister often points out - where I live - it's a black hole medically speaking. So, maybe not.

Hello at last,

Hi Alison if I'm in time before you go, I'm coming to yours for a mutton lunch on Sunday! Hope this afternoon is not too bad for you, take care.

Well I've had an eventful time. OH went to close bedroom curtains and blinds this evening and entering the bedroom she heard Plop - Plop - Plop. Ahuge wet patch on the ceiling, and a puddle on the floor. So it was buckets, bowls, anything to catch water. I went up onto the next floor and it was coming through the roof, obviously slates missing somewhere. We have had the most atrocious weather, storm force winds, and torrential rain. Serious flooding all around. I am between two estuaries, when the flood water down river meets the the high tide, the estuary bursts its banks and causes serious flooding. Roads to the South and North of us are impassible -
Anyone got a boat to spare?
