Alison - didn't you notice how polite they have both been?

Tec - no, I don't remember getting whistles when I was younger. Had to go to Italy for that - got pinched there too.

Good evening all.

my OH has a Ry Cooder cd and I have a wisteria,

We went to York again today, mainly because we need to visit a bank. Still we had an enjoyable lunch out again and we even bought a few things. It was cinema duty this evening, which is why I am late popping in

I hope the scan doesn't take up too much of your day Alison

Tec,

if they are all on the way over here, I'll have to throw another shrimp on the barbie.

I was right about the sisterhood sending pm's to each other. A bit like trial by jury where as the accused, you are not invited to hear the evidence against you!

Trouble indeed...we know our rights

Alison

All the best for the CT scan

Alison,
Did Mother give any indication who the two are that are in trouble? I'd love to know - can't imagine, but expect they'll soon find out - poor them.

Think it's probably Berona, and Linda - naughty girls,

Tec

Good evening Linda

Are you also here to gloat over the forthcoming troubles of two of the nicest people I know?

Allan

Alison Report 17 Nov 2009 22:42

Hi Linda,

Nah, should only take a few minutes. I'm allergic to the contrast they inject into you, so I don't have that. Seeing as I'm a "regular", I'm in and out pretty quickly! The driving across town takes much longer.

I ordered 2 more certificates from England yesterday and should be getting the British India one soon.

Has anyone used the Scotland's People site? Is it any good? My names are quite common, so was just wondering........

Alison

Alison Report 17 Nov 2009 22:44

SueMaid PM'd me to offer support and the names Heckle and Jeckle were mentioned between us.

LindainHerriotCountry Report 17 Nov 2009 22:45

I don't have any Scottish people in my tree Alison, so I haven't used the site, but I know that you get lots of info from it.

The two nicest people you know Allan? Who would they be?

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 17 Nov 2009 22:46

Good Evening Linda,

I was beginning to think there had been a mass exodus out of the country, and only I was left.

Apparently two members of this exclusive club are in trouble with Mother

Have you heard anything?...........what's the gossip?

If the nicest people are going to be in trouble, I can't see anyone putting their hands up Alison

I haven't heard any gossip Tec as I have been out a all day,

Hello Alison, good luck for today.
I used Scotland's People extensively when researching OH's father's line. Although you pay for say 30 credits which expire, if you go back later even though it says no credits they reappear when you buy more.
Unfortunately OH is from a McDonald line on her mother's side so gave up on that. I may rejoin later to follow up on some of my mother's ancestry. Some common surnames though.

Thanks Colin,

I might give it a go, can't hurt to have a try.

I think the Oncologist just wants to check and see if the liver tumour is growing, seeing as all of a sudden I have the stomach one now.

It's going to be 37degrees today - I should like to stay home. My appointment is at 11.15. It will be O - T 'ot (as my Mum used to say)

Berona

Berona Report 17 Nov 2009 23:05

I used Scotland's People once. Bought some credits and found it OK to use. I found that my ancestors lived in Coldingham, Berks and registered two daughters in England and the son in Scotland. The son is my direct gr/great grandfather. This left me with two credits and I didn't use them for a while. When I couldn't find anything more on the family, I tried again, and they told me my credits had expired. Didn't try again because I only wanted to see if the marriage had been registered in Scotland too. I have since asked Durham Records office to help and they asked me to confirm the request in April. Sent a reminder in August, but no answers as yet.
