Good Everything to Everyone Today,

Hope everyone is sparkling today - Berona, it is 8c here at the moment and expected to drop to 5c tonight with a possibility of snow, a little of your heat would be nice.
Sue, Sorry you didn't find the cushions you wanted, looks like you'll have to make them, but they'll be nicer, and exactly what you want - I didn't really imagine you roaming around the hills looking for a lonely goatherd!!.
Allan, Just think of all the things you can fix now that you have the time to fix them - maybe your OH will present you with a "Honey Do List"
"Honey will you do this" "Honey will you do that" etc etc.

Old age is not creeping up, it is galloping!

Hi Linda,

Never mind, you'll never be as old as me,
anyway it was too cold to go out tonight,

I know a joke about old age but I'll post it on the Ethics thread as I don't want to be responsible for having this one whooshed.

That is so true Tec !

I did pop next door to witness a passport application form and I just got chatting,as you do. Ask the duchess if you don't understand that.

i completely forgot that I was going to the church for 7pm to the preview evening for the Christmas tree exhibition. I missed free drinks and nibbles.

Very funny Sue, you are challenging Allan for his position as thread joker I see.

LindainHerriotCountry Report 27 Nov 2009 22:18

Does Allan wear one of those jesters costumes when he tells jokes I wonder?

LindainHerriotCountry

Allan

Allan Report 27 Nov 2009 22:24

Linda, when not wearing my maids uniform I have a Jester's outfit complete with curly shoes with bells on.

It only takes me jester a minute to chang from one uniform to the other!

I received this from my daughter recently....

You were born before pencillin, polio shots, frozen food, xerox, plastic, contact lenses, video, frisbees, and the pill.

You were born before radar, credit cards, split atoms, lazer beams, ballpoint pens, before dishwashers, tumble dryers, electric blankets, drip dry clothes.

You got married first,, then lived together. You thought fast food was something you ate at lent, a Big Mac was an oversized raincoat, and crumpet was something you had for tea. You existed before house husbands, computer dating, dual careers, and sheltered accommodation was somewhere you waited for the bus.

You had never heard of FM radio, word processors, yoghurt, pizzas, or young men wearing earings. a chip was a piece of wood, or a fried potato,
hardwear meant nuts and bolts, softwear wasn't a word. The term "making out" referred to how you did in exams, a stud was something that fastened your clothes, and going all the way meant staying on the bus all the way to the depot.

In your day cigarette smoking was fashionable, grass" was mown, "coke" was kept in the coal house, and a joint was something in the oven on Sundays.

No wonder you are confused...........

Goodnight Linda,

Berona

Berona Report 27 Nov 2009 22:47

Well - I've been and come back again! I was home for 9:30am and although my car and the supermarket are both air conditioned, and the car-park is underground and always 'cool' (freezing in winter), I still came home feeling 'sweaty' and went straight for the iced water. Now, I just need to water my pots (soaked my roses yesterday), and then I will be staying in!

So sorry we can't send some of the heat over to you. I'll see what I can do with meditation!

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 27 Nov 2009 22:53

Hi again Berona,
You must have flown around the supermarket - you're not the lady that gets my ankles with your trolley are you?

Sorry I was away. I've just been reading, and adding to, the Pantomime Thread on General

Very Imaginative!!

I have never looked at the Pantomime thread, so will do so soon, time I ventured out to see what goes on in the world.

Wales v Australia Rugby ...........
Aussies were beaten by Scotland last week, so they will come out fighting.. and the Welsh captain is out injured, so looks bad for us.

Tec

Allan

Allan Report 27 Nov 2009 23:11

I hope that they don't do what the Aussie cricketers seem to be doing more and more...getting off to a great start then failing to build on it!

Allan

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 27 Nov 2009 23:17

Wales won the last Aussie match, but the last time we beat them back to back as it were was in 1973, so unless a miracle happens I think we've had it........oh well

Are you having a holiday this summer Allan, or don't you bother too much?
