Tec

I'm glad the Duchess is well and that she is having tests etc, hopefully they can sort it all out.

I thought the word cwtch meant Welsh Granny Hugs?

I will second that hun,
YIPPEEEE YIPPEEEE
and not a day to soon, please please god my client ( name used for man I care for ) doesn't get sick before then, I think I would end up in a nut house if that was to happen, no disrespect for him but I think my energy level's would give up on me.

Allan,
Every ladies hand bag is like the Tardis......
My OH often says she's lost something, a pen, a comb, etc,
I reply "It's in your hand bag" she says "No it's not"
Then proceeds to dig frantically in the caverns of her hand bag...
Then - lo and behold - out it pops eventually.

Very mysterious things - hand bags

Carole,
Well your correct about cwtch meaning Welsh Granny Hugs,
I love that description by the way.
It means something more than a cuddle - the kind of hug your Granny might give you...........

Any more Welsh lessons?

I started to read the threads as have just got back from the hairdresser.
Wanted to catch you all before you go and thank you for you wishing my little guy well. False alarm - he shall have a painless Christmas. He had another lot of tests including blood ones last night - his father and he stayed overnight (good the way they have a bed for parents at the childrens' hospital - it is called Starship Hosp.) and his mum stayed till 2am. They thought they would see how he was after breakfast this morning and he has been sent home. Appendicitis I know is very hard to diagnose... when I was nine - they thought I had pulled a muscle in my stomach from doing to many flips and cartwheels - my mother thought I was wagging school and even went and saw the teacher. Appendix came out and it was just bordering on the ready to burst stage.

Now back to reading and thank you all once again.

And Tec - yesterday I went on one of OH's Tiki Tours of all the hardware and power tool shops before we actually got to where we were supposed to be going.

Hi Carole:-))

I've had a look at my handbag having just been out and I'll detail the contents.
Purse
Mobile phone
Keys
Sunglasses
Tissues - a couple of used ones
2 pens
Diary
Lipstick
Plastic card holder - won't fit in purse:-)
Fold up shopping bag.

I think you win that round, fellows.

By the way - how do you pronounce "cwytch" - it sounds like a lovely word.

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 9 Dec 2009 23:24

Thanks, Tec - it is a lovely word. Now on the roads in Wales we noticed the word araf. Have I spelt that right and does it mean slow? My brother would shout that out to my OH on occasion and we thought ourselves very clever.

I at times get paid for washing his clothes - the new notes are so much better than the old ones they wash just like new.
My handbag had also become a receptacle for his cards, newspaper, note paper, library book, nails etc etc so much so that he now has his own handbag.

Is Berona back yet for breakfast, she must be famished.

Allan is right about the panto cast they all huddle under his Mac - one poor player had to get herself thoroughly intoxicated before she would venture therein. I stay out in the fields in the fresh air... and if you would like to know I play the part of a Red Apple, and a Bashful - Little Bo Peep.
I keep strictly in character at all times.

Perse.

Hi Perse, I think it's Good Afternoon with you,

Very pleased to hear the little guy is ok, better to be safe than sorry,
maybe best to keep a close watch for a while.
It's essential to visit hardware shops, and power tool shops on any trip - they might have something dead exciting.

Sue, I think your hand bag is remarkably tidy - sounds empty, Mystery is what does the Queen carry in THAT hand bag?

Persey I'm glad all is well with your boy. A lively Christmas after all:-)

Diane I've just remembered the times we've gone out with me carrying an elegant evening bag only to have OH ask if he can put his keys in my bag. So no they haven't won that round at all.

Although I am officially a member of the pantomime thread I will not be huddling under Allan's mac - although I'm sure it's a very nice mac.

Correct Sue,

Araf = Slow.........

Welsh for Grandmother = Nain as in English nine
Welsh for Grandfather = Taid as in English tide

Tec - I believe she is known to have money in it as she is prone to have a bob or two each way on the horses.
