I always wondered what those stains were on my mac.

Now I know...they are travel stains

Sue I hope I survive the day, will probably spend Friday asleep all day lol.

Tec just googled it, and found that the Barclay Foundation donated the money, googled Barclay Foundation and found out nothing to do with Barclay's Bank as I first thought, the Founder's of Foundation are 2 brother's ( twin's I think ) they are call Sir David and Sir Frederick Barclay and they are successful but reclusive businessmen with an estimated fortune of £ 1-8 billion, they bought Littlewood's off the Moores Family in 2002 for £750 million.

It's so nice of Allan to lend you his all-weather gear, Tec. Just make sure you return it in time for his 3am walks. The wheelie bins might not recognise him without it.

Tecwyn Report 11 Dec 2009 23:13

Allan,
The stains are where the Duchess hits me with a wet mop if I try to get in the house. I will in future have the garment dry cleaned before returning it, so that you can appear on stage immaculate.

Berona, I hope the wheelie bins will be dutifully impressed with Allan in his clean Mac.

Diane - I know about the Barclay brother's. They do lots of good work, but quietly. It's a wonderful thing to do regardless of how much money they have isn't it.

Allan, Sorry too late - but I'll take the Mac on the yard and stamp on it in the puddles - restore it's character

Bye Sue

I must also be going. it is the local Toy Run today organised by the local motorbike clubs aided by the real Bikies

Leaves Australind shopping Centre at ten and heads into Bunbury where the toys are given to the Salvos for distribution to needy children.

It is always an impressive, and noisy, sight. Up to 600 motorbikes take part: there are nearly as many police escorting them as well as the ones blocking off all roads feeding onto the route.

Major chaos but all for a good cause

It's always good to see people who have a lot of money, putting it to good use for the sake of humanity. Although it would be good to see the government supply these things, there will always be arguments over cost, etc. before humanity is considered....Thank heaven for these benevolent people.

Tecwyn Report 11 Dec 2009 23:39

Goodnight Diane,
Sleep well and keep warm, it's freezing tonight.

Berona, You are right about governments proving essential equipment to hospitals. They waste so much on mad-cap schemes, and feathering their own nests. Today our government announced it's giving 1.5 billion pounds to poorer countries to help them reduce carbon output into the atmosphere - all well and good, except that new born babies are dying in our hospitals because of the shortage of midwife's on the wards.
That makes me so mad..........

Sleep well Up Top,

Goodnight my friends,

LindainHerriotCountry Report 12 Dec 2009 09:04

Good morning everyone. It is still foggy here, but not as bad as yesterday. Not quite so cold either, only the grass in the shaded part of the garden is white this morning.

Tec, my reaction to the climate change money was exactly the same as yours. We have a huge national debt, the country is in a real mess, but we can give billions away at the drop of a hat. Yes I know the cause is important, but we need to get our own house in order first..
Plus when I hear it is mainly for Africa, I despair. I think about the huge amount of money siphoned off by corrupt governments who are prepared to let their own people starve.

edit,
No one seems to be around yet. I have been out to the market and having come back in, my face is stinging from the cold. I will have a quick cup of coffee to warm me up and then I am going to knuckle down and wrap the presents I have so far.

Linda you must have had a busy day wrapping your pressy's, I haven't even started my card's yet.

So - Did you knuckle down - and get the wrapping done?

It was another lovely sunny day here, but very cold.
We decided not to go out,as we felt the shops would be manic, so will go in the week when it will be quieter - hopefully.

I refuse to go shopping on a Sunday - not for any religious reason, just that I do regret the passing of the traditional British Sunday, which was a special day of the week, when you could attend church, if you wanted, then after Sunday lunch, visit your granny, or take tea with your maiden aunt.
It was a special day, a quiet day, and a time for working people to catch their breath, away from the hum-drum activities of weekdays.
Now, Sunday seems like every other day - commerce has taken over.
