I can do seafood for breakfast no problem.

A whole group of us were staying in a pub in Northland and one chap had never had toheroa fritters before - well he had them as an entree and then as a main and next morning asked for them for breakfast.
Besides the Brits have kippers for brekkie.
And yes I have had lobster the morning after the night before when I was a teen ager.

Kettle's boiling now - I ended up tidying up last time I went in the kitchen so now for the coffee.

The table next to us had a seafood platter for 4 people. It came on an enormous 2 tiered tray. We just sat there and drooled. Next time we'll get the platter. It had every bit of seafood you can think of including barramundi.

Bequiet Sue I am drinking my coffee - and wondering if I should take my coffee over to the other thread and sober it up.

"who wants to be a lady" indeed - A Lady is a woman who sticks her little finger out ever so daintily whilst she downs her beer, lager & lime, or her G & T.

LOL

That looked a bit rude - so rather than edit I meant sshh about the seafood whilst I am drinking boring coffee.

I have often had a small piece of crumbed fish on my toast for breakfast and quite enjoy it. Also had plain fried fish which we have caught the night before whilst camping - but nothing fancier than that for brekkie.

Sue - it is cloudy here with a top expected of 22. I can't see any sign of us having had any rain - but that's the norm here!... Thanks for sending Alison our good wishes. I hope it helps to keep up her wonderful spirit.

So did I....

They are beautiful Diane. I think you were away when we were talking about Moreton Bay Bugs & Balmain Bugs. They are like a lobster or crayfish and are even more delish...

Berona

Berona Report 13 Dec 2009 21:10

They are another type of seafood, Diane - known as Balmain Bugs - but certainly not 'bugs' as you known them.

Persephone Report 13 Dec 2009 21:13

Diane

In oz they have Witcety Grubs - Eaten raw or lightly roasted in hot ashes, the witchetty grub is a staple of Australian Aboriginal eating,

And here in NZ we have something which is either the same or similar called Hu hu grubs - and one usually gets them straight off the hot plate at country fairs. And they are nice too.

Sorry didn't mean to be number 9000...

Just realised when I submitted and closed.

That's a lot of posts Sue..

Hi Everyone,
All this talk of exotic food - making me quite hungry.

That was a good idea Sue putting our posts to Alison together for her to read when she can. I very much hope the love and warmth sent from all of us will maybe help her get through her treatment.

Perse - I am still a big fan of Spooks, although it has lost something in this latest series - I think the storylines are getting weaker. Pity Rupert Penry-Jones was killed off, but Hernione Norris is still there.

Hi Berona, Diane - did I miss anyone?....hope not

They are beautiful, Diane. A bit fiddly but worth it. The lobster was very expensive last night so we decided against it. Didn't want to be stingy but it was a little over the top price wise.

I know what Witcety Grub's are ( big caterpillar's ) never heard of Hu Hu grub's though'
If I grew up with them probably wouldn't be a problem, after all we all eat thing's that sound strange to other's

It's like a lot of progammes Tec - they start to get into the realms of fantasy a bit too much after awhile. I loved Taggart as there would always be another moider - but they got into all this ritual and black magic stuff as does Midsomer Murders.
If you ever want to see a funny movie watch "Hot Fuzz" it's like Midsomer Murders on speed. Great cast as well, with send ups of other characters that they had played in other films.

So I will leave all you Happy campers.

Good morning Tec. The messages to Alison were very uplifting and full of warmth and love. I just didn't want them to be lost as we kept posting.

Well done Persey. 9000!!!! I never thought this thread would last this long - and I didn't think I would make such lovely friends.

Congratulations Sue, on your brilliant thread reaching 9,000.
It must give you great satisfaction to have brought us all together in friendship. Can anything be more worthwhile?
The thread means such a lot to us, and I hope it goes on and on for a very long time.
Thank you, and bless you.

I agree Sue. I sometimes have something important to attend to, but find that I feel drawn to saying 'hello' on here first, no matter what I have to do!
I would feel I had been rude if I missed that greeting.....Also, it is so nice to see that we have a mixture of people from different countries, yet with no barriers between us.
