Persephone Report 12 Dec 2009 22:35

Well I know we will be going to Isle of Mann as that is a heritage place of OHs - and I will want to go to Nortern Ireland re my mother's father's ancestry - and a couple of places up in Scotland are a must plus Kent where I have so much history. And to think I have only been to London for 5 days on the way back from the states.

I have been googling Diane and it must be the Haverthwaite to Lakeside railway which has connections with Windermere Lake Cruises, so it is a different lake

Yes Linda - Bunnings is exactly like your B & Q stores. Even much the same layout. It's one of our favourite stores. The plants are good quality and OH loves all the tools and gadgets. We buy paint there, cleaning stuff. It's just wonderful and I can feel another visit coming on just talking about it:-)))

Both OH and I have a lot of family history in Kent too, Persey. Which is funny as I was born near Leeds and OH in the north east of England. OH's father was a Londoner and they go way back as Londoners. It is his maternal family that hail from Kent. My dad's family are Yorkshire through and through but my mum's family come from Devon and Kent. She was amazed to find out that on her mother's side she is only 2nd generation Yorkshire.

Why do you hate the thought of Ryan Air Linda? I have only been to Northern Ireland and that was when my X was in the Army and he was posted there for 18mth's when the trouble's were on, I went over there with him when I ran away from a children's home and was there a few week's before the authorites knew I was with him. A few month's later after persuading my dad to sign a form giving me permission to get married as I was not yet 18yrs old we come home to Liverpool to get married and then we returned to Ireland for the rest of his time there. My eldest son was born over there.

That is the same as my OH Sue. he thought he was a true Yorkshireman, then I discovered they come from Berkshire. He was not amused.

I must be off too. We're going to the garden centre. I'm a member there so I get a newsletter as well as a discount. They have just opened a new gift area and by the looks of things I can "wrap" up the Christmas shopping in one visit.

Linda have a lovely few days away and stay warm snuggling up to your OH...wink, wink:-))

Everyone enjoy your day/evening. Love to you all.

Berona Report 12 Dec 2009 22:44

Although it is Sunday morning here, I do have to do some tidying up and watering of the pot plants before it gets too hot.

You Upside down people will be getting towards midnight, so I will bid you goodnight and pleasant dreams. I already know what Diane is going to dream about! (R & R) and I suppose Linda will be dreaming of her trip!

Have a nice day Australasians - even if it IS hot.
Alison - If you are looking in - thinking of you. Stick it out and it will be finished soon - 24th!!!yea!

I just hate Michael O'Leary the bloke who runs it Diane. Every time I see him on the news, I just want to do unspeakable things to him. Plus they are the instigators of having to pay extra for every single thing, which is now taking hold among the other airlines

Diane Report 12 Dec 2009 22:51

Linda you are right hun it was Lakeside and not Ullswater lol, but I have been to Ullswater as well, I went to Conniston Lake but out of all the Lake's I found Conniston to be quite airy, don't know if it's because of the connection to the Bluebird crash but I would say it is my least favourite Lake's.
Bye Allan and Perse, speak to you both again.

I think Coniston is spooky as well Diane. I suppose I have been to most of them over the years, but they all seem to merge into one, or maybe my brain is just packing in.

I am off now,so I hope that you really enjoy your time off, you really do deserve it. I will be back on Tuesday.

Love to Alison, if you look in.
