I hardly watch TV at all Berona. I watch the news at 6pm, then don't usually bother until I watch a current affairs programme at 10.30pm.
Sometimes I watch the odd drama, but not of the soap or series variety. My one trashy weakness is that I like to watch Strictly Come Dancing. I missed it because we were out last night, but I watched the actual dances on the BBC i player when I came home.

Not much point in your going for the sympathy vote Allan, as you are hardly likely to get it1

Linda,

being on this Thread is just like being at home...no sympathy there either!!

Berona Report 8 Nov 2009 22:25

I miss my DVD recorder. I was in the habit of setting it to record whatever I wanted to see at night, while I could do my transcribing without any interruption - then I would watch it after lunch next day - and fast-forward on any commercials. However, it died and my son examined it and put it in the bin! (I'd only had it two years - but HE gave it to me as a present - so I couldn't say much). He then connected up the old one (but it only plays DVDs, doesn't record) and said he would get me another one! I suppose that will be my Christmas present.

Now, if I want to see any night programmes, I have to sit and watch them - but it's not hard for me to fall asleep doing that - and I can't re-wind the TV!

Oh Berona, don't mention The C word, I haven't given a thought to organising anything yet. i did manage to make the cake a couple of weeks ago, but that is all.

Allan, I am sure that your wife is just as sympathetic to you as i am to my husband

Allan

Allan Report 8 Nov 2009 22:32

Berona,
The problem I have with recording TV programmes is that if i don't watch the recordings within a day or two of the event, I just loose interest and scrub them...which makes me wonder if I was really interested in the first place

Linda,

I am absolutely sure that you and my OH share the same level of sympathy factor!!

Allan

Berona

Berona Report 8 Nov 2009 22:36

I do that too, Allan. Especially when I have about four of them on a disc and I want to use it for more recording. I watch one or two of them, then erase the rest to make sure there is enough room for the next lot.

You're right. I wonder did I really want to watch them in the first place? and I think it's a waste of time sitting watching fiction for a few hours!

Good evening Tec, I hope that all is well. I was just about to depart, but I am not sure that it would be fair on Berona to leave her alone with the two of you

Allan

Allan Report 8 Nov 2009 22:41

Good evening Tec,

The girls have been models of virtuous maidenhood!

Well almost, Linda has been a bit fractious but I've managed to have the eating out of my hand.

Without Mother to marshall the full potential of them , they crumble :0))

Berona Report 8 Nov 2009 22:41

We were beginning to worry about you Tec. Have you been having a snooze in front of the TV?

I'm going now. Have a few things to do and then might go for a nice drive to give my battery a boost (the car's battery, actually, not mine).

I'm happy now that Tec has arrived. I won't worry about him while I'm out.

Talk to you all later.

Hi Linda, and Berona, and Allan,

All is well now at last. Had a medical emergency earlier, but OH is fine now, and in bed.
The dinner that I was cooking remains uneaten, despite my best efforts, but the dog enjoyed some of it. While I ended up with a ham roll.

That was quite a nasty session, came within a whisker of hitting the panic button........we do have fun here!

Have a nice day out Berona, I saw Norma on another thread,so hopefully she can take over.

I would just be careful in case I bite your hand Allan. I am not at all fractious, I am totally calm, serene and sober tonight

I shall retire Allan, time for bed and Sudoku. I always do one while I watch TV before I go to sleep. I like them because they are just logical
