Good morning from the frozen north. Tec was correct,we did have a frost overnight, the grass is still white, but the sun is startingto peep through.

Allan my OH loves sliced onions soaked in vinegar for a few days. In fact he loves raw onion, you can never have too much as far as he is concerned.

I hope that Carole's son is better soon and her Oh gets his knees sorted out soon as well.

Give my love to the Duchess Tec, I hope that she had a good night.

Alison, you take the pain relief when you need it and things have improved a great deal, so you will be well looked after i am sure. In this country we have teams of dedicated oncology nurses called Macmillan nurses, who are wonderful when it comes to sorting out the medication. They were so helpful when my dad was ill.

Hi Everyone,
I am pleased to say that all appears to be ok this morning here at the Manor. The Duchess had a good night, which means that so did I.

Thank you everyone for your concern and good wishes.

It's a beautiful morning, frost is melting now in the morning sun, and the sky is clear and blue.

I have to go, lots to do, just popped on to say that sanity has returned here, well, as sane as it ever gets these days.

Take care everyone, speak to you all later hopefully,

Tec.

I am glad to hear that you had a good night Tec,

I am just off to bang my head on a wall.

Ouch that hurt.

I have just been trying to open a new savings account on line and I dutifully filled in all the bits and it insisted on having my home telephone number filled in, but every time I did so, it said it isn't a valid number.

In the end I had to ring the call centre from my supposedly invalid number and go through the whole opening process again.

So finally it is done and so I am I ,so a cup of coffee is called for I think.

My goodness Linda, what happens if you don't have a home phone number? Many of the younger generation here don't. They use their mobile for everything. Saves a fortune on "line rental" charges.

It does seem very quiet on the boards tonight our time. I have been catching up on TV recorded over the weekend. I watched Torchwood, the first of a series on Charles Darwin, and the beginning of My House in Umbria. I think I have seen Umbria before, but I love Maggie Smith.
It is the last hurrah here before non-ratings season, when all our favourite shows are put to bed for three months and the dross comes out. We live in hope, because just occasionally there is some unexpected gold among the dross.
It's warm but not hot here, after a damp weekend. Hope all is well with you. xx Colin.

Linda.....
If you just accept that we are all guests at The Mad Hatters Tea Party.....

then all these frustrations of modern lfe become easier to bear.

Hi Colin, Most of our TV is dross, except for Spooks - do you get that there? Some documentaries are good though, and I enjoy some period drama's.

NUNS?...........
I was once captured and held prisoner by nuns........really!
