Tec, not too hot but a bit humid.

We have reached the point now where we can actually see the progress being made.

It is getting really cold here again tonight Tec. OH made me go for a walk at 7.30pm. It was cold enough then.The stars were so clear, so it will be really cold overnight.

That is one nice thing we noticed as soon as we moved here, you could seethe stars so clearly, where we used to live was in a large town and there was so much light pollution it never got really dark.

The good thing about it being cod is that it's dry. I got my gas fire on and I'm wearing a quilted jacket thing so I'm nice and warm.
When I was younger and I used to see stars i couldn't but not sing the opening lines from Vincent by Don Mclean.

Beautiful here at the moment (8:35am), but the forecast is for at least 30 - so everything outside needs to be done early!

That is why I love to go walking in the early mornings.

Once away from the Street lights the sky is clear. I often see shooting stars and the odd satellite passing overhead

The local Astronomy Society built an observatory in Bunbury a few years ago at a particular point away from light pollution.

Last year a new college was built alongside. The college has external lighting which remains on all night for security. The Observatory is now all but useless

I don't think I'd like to be a Dame of anything. It always reminds me of the American version of 'dames'. South Pacific - "There is Nothing Like a Dame".

I would much prefer to be a "Lady". It suits me better.

I was 18 years old - my first trip at sea,
In the days before satelite and advanced telecommunication, ship to shore, and shore to ship messages had to go through a radio room individually. My lot in life was to run about the ship taking bits of paper with messages on to passengers in their cabins.

Coming home, we picked up three nuns in Bombay ( Mombai) having spent 40 years in India, they were returning to Ireland (to rest)
They frequently recieved messages from India and Ireland, so saw lots of me.

Working long hours I often saw them about the decks at all hours. Like Allan they were given to moonlight walks.

One day they contacted the radio room to say they had a message for collection. I went down to get it.

Arriving at the cabin, I knocked and was called in.
Once inside the cabin, the Mother Superior locked the door.
They had ordered afternoon tea from the steward, I was told to sit down, and offered tea, one lump or two. Explaning that I couldn't stop and would be missed, I was again told, very firmly to sit down. She was a very formidable looking nun.
I was told I worked far to hard for a boy of my age, and could have a rest.

Now here I am, locked in a room with three nuns - began to sweat, imagining a fate worse than death tself.

Ignoring my protests, Mother Superior picks up the cabin phone, dials the radio room, tells the Chief Radio Officer that his junior was taking afternoon tea with her, and would be along shortly.

I wanted to die

I was eventually released, and returning to my station, I was at first shouted at, then subjected to terrible ridicule, the nature of which would not be appropriate to repeat here, but a very different interpretation of "Afternoon Tea" was to haunt me for months on that ship, and I was the butt of many rude jokes.

It's when Allan SAYS he goes walking - at 3am - and has intelligent conversations with wheelie bins!!????

Wouldn't it be nice if we found that Sue has headed WEST and turns up at Allan's place? - at 4am!!! That might tell us something! However, she has only gone for about a week and it would take that long to get there. Oh well, I've just thought about Janet. Where are you, Janet? We need you to do something for us!

Berona, depending where in Perth Janet is it would still take a couple of hours to reach Australind, and there are many 'roos on the Road.

I doubt that Janet would be willing to travel at 2.00am even for the sisterhood :0))
