If you had spaces in your chosen name, they would be rejected under the new system, even though some names do have them - these have existed prior to the change which was made by GR.

So - are you Colin or Tom now?

Alison, thank you for your kind words, and for asking about OH.
I think you are a brave lady. I think I would have been knocked for six by the news if it was me. OH thinks so, too. She has a few holes and missing bits but finds it hard to contemplate what it would be like to lose some or all of your stomach.
Love and hugs, Colin.

Colin is my real name. I have been called Tommy or variants since I was two years old (my attempts to say Colin were not very successful). I'll answer to Colin, Tom or Tommy, but don't particularly like Col.
Guess what I get at work. Or, Big Fella.

Hello, Alison, Berona and Colin

Colin I have spoken with Mel on other Threads (which were not wind up ones) and have always had a friendly exchange with her.

As I don't post on the others I suppose that I have been lucky not to have fallen foul of anyone (other than the Sisterhood on this site :0)) ).

I must admit to a mischievous delight, though, in seeing how others react on wind up threads

Alison - you will have to come and live with me. I haven't got over my love of preparing food and as I'm on my own and on a diet, I don't get the chance to do that any more. I would love to be trying to fatten you up - but I suppose you are like the horse being led to water!

Allan! Nice to see you again. I too, have spoken to Mel on a genealogy topic. Short and sweet, but quite nice. However, I will not join a thread if I see her comment on it, as I can see there are those just waiting to misinterpret what she says and she invariably bites back - and it's on for young and old. I prefer to avoid those threads.

Attention all members of the Sisterhood!

Have you seen what these two renegades have been saying about us on you-know-who's thread? They are going to tell Sue that we have all attacked them with various implements! The cheek!

Urgent meeting being convened.

Oh how I miss food!! I can only eat bits and pieces - I normally have a very healthy country girl appetite. Not only have I lost weight, but I've lost height too. I am now 154cm - was 155. I used to weigh on average 45kg, until my 1st husband left me for his "woman" and I went down to 40kg - looking after our 1 year old son. Now, I weigh about 64kg. My weight just started to creep up. My sister thinks my body was preparing itself for battle. So, I'm not fading away to a shadow just yet. And it doesn't worry me if people know my statistics! Before you ask Allan - I'm 41 !!!!!!!!!!!!

If they're not careful, their prophecies will come true!! To arms To arms - grab your rolling pins and your curlers (ooh painful).

Does your OH get sick of drinking water, Colin? (I'll resist calling you Big Fella if you don't mind). That's doctor's speak for "we don't actually know what's wrong, drink more water." !!

Alison - I loved your mention of "dinky-di". I wonder how many people on this site would know what that means?

Alison

Alison Report 16 Nov 2009 07:48

Mmmmmm (trying not to do all of the talking)

All the Aussies know "dinky-di" *puffs out chest*

Good morning everyone. The rain is lashing down here, OH has just set out to walk to the gym, Being more sensible I shall stay put this morning.

Changing your site name doesn't make much difference Colin.all you have to do is hover over your name and your membership number appears in the bar on the bottom of the page,so you can tell who people are.

The postman just came and brought me a lovely big package of genealogy stuff. I had ordered £50's worth of parish record transcriptions for the area where my mum came from. I already have a load, but this complements the ones I have. Some of them are on the IGI, but the paper booklets contain extra information which helps to confirm I have the correct people. The baptism booklets also throw up lots of extra children who never lived long enough to make it to a census record.

I have had a quick glance in one burial book and there is the burial for one of my great grandfathers. I had already bought a wrong death cert for him, but now I will be able to get the correct one. I am a happy bunny

Morning Linda

Glad some one is having some rain, would you mind sending some over here cos we haven't had any for about a month.

Linda, how do you order those parish register records? (Huddersfield).
I just received 2 marriage certificates this morning, but I'm having trouble reading some of the writing.
I also received 2 certificates in the mail last week, I didn't have a problem reading those two:-))
