Berona

As soon as I hear the music for Home and Away I'm off into the other room.

OH is addicted to it. I can't stand it. Way over the top Drama these days.

I certainly wouldn't buy a house in Summer Bay, it could be destroyed by fire, explosion, torrential rain, Tsunami and probaly by all of them at the same time

By the same token, I wouldn't buy a house in Midsommer Norton in the UK, your survival chances there are equally as small as in Summer Bay

Good Morning Allan,

Berona was up so early this morning I thought you may have bumped into her on your walk........

I am disturbed to hear that you have eaten frogs legs, and can't believe you've sampled witchetty bugs........

and you're right, chicken is tasteless these days, as is bacon.

I have to admit, Allan, that sometimes the script-writers don't seem to have done any research. Their grammar needs polishing too. For instance, the doctor (Rachel) seems to handle every case in the hospital - even fitted in a heart transplant at one time and only this week, one young man said he was applying for a position at the abattoirs - in a holiday resort???

Barbra - you are not far behind us then. Angelo is still chasing Hugo.

One man's meat is another man's poison.

We have three abattoirs in Bunbury, a City which also promotes tourism

Tec,

I have to be honest I've never eaten the grubs. I have however, swallowed many flies. That's one of the hazards of WA.

Barbra, Linda, Carole, please forgive me but I promise you that I am not ignoring you

I know what you mean Allan, but you did say City. Summer Bay is depicted to be a sleepy little inlet with a beach, caravan park (which doesn't seem to require much administration), a few homes and a high school (?), surrounded by bushland. You won't find meatworks in many places like that.

As for living in Midsomer. It's OK living in that district as long as you don't have any friends because when a killer starts, they always seem to keep going until they have cleaned up a few - I still like it though!

Hate to admit it, but I might just backflip and renew, for the chat.
Yes, still licking wounds, but this morning I have put what I hoped was a thoughtful contribution of Rambling Rose's thread about the apology (but she's a Brit, isn't she? Gordon Brown must be doing something similar).

Never have watched Home and Away, however I would love to have a holiday home in Summer Bay Heights (overlooking Barrenjoey and palm Beach). I would need to win Lotto first. It's a very pricey area, and a bit remote. 42 km from Sydney city, but I caught the 190 Palm Beach bus many times in my student years. I had to get off 45 minutes before the terminus, near the abattoir and t' coal pit. And the kangaroo farm.
And watch out for the drop bears and swooping magpies as I walked up the hill. Fortunately I didn't have to worry about the crocodiles in Mullet Creek, as they are quite tame around there.
Some of the above is dinki-di. Some is what we tell American tourists. :<))

No high school in the real Summer Bay. There is a primary school.

Berona,

Summer Bay does seem to have elastic boundaries :0))

Barbra,

I met my OH when she came into the Department where I was working in the local Council Offices in Middleton. I thought that she was making eyes at me!

She just has 'Doe' Eyes.

I also misjudged her age thinking that she was about seventeen ( I was nineteen) turned out she was fifteen

Berona,

Although Bunbury is a City, the actual population is only about 30,000.

Even with all the surrounding councils we can only muster a population of about 80,000

80,000 is enormous Allan, well compared to our 4500 it is, but then to Tec in the middle of nowhere, my little town will seem enormous

Alison Report 16 Nov 2009 22:06

Hi Everyone,

I don't watch Home and Away either, Colin.

Barbra, after my first (bleep bleep) husband left, I moved to a new town and the flat I rented was right next door to a car dealership. My OH, who worked there, came over and introduced himself, my son who was 1 took to him straight away and OH took to him too. He started to take me out and that was that.

He did (very early on in the relationship) ask me if I wanted to read some magazines. I said "Are they clean?" - very suspicious I was. He was quite put out, as they were his Mum's New Ideas and Woman's Days!!

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 16 Nov 2009 22:08

Grossly overcrowded here - population of 400 souls, and that includes outlying areas included within the parish boundary,

We have policemen with loud hailers controllong the pedestrians on the pavements.

The population does of course explode during the tourist time, when we all hide in our caves until they are gone

Tomex2101,
You can't even consider absconding - Allan and I are only just coping here, the strain is beginning to tell on us both. I've aged ten years in the last week.
We'll even pay you to stay...........

Apart from all that, your posts are good fun
