For example the entire Shire Of Dardanup (all 518 sq km of it) only has a total population of 10,000

Sorry, had to go - school bus time and I drove down today. Feeling a little queasy. I would much rather have pain, than nausea!

I don't think I would go on a blind date. I was very anxious dating OH as I was a girl from the bush and we knew everyone and our parents knew each other etc. Turned out that my OH and his first wife used to live next door to my cousin, so she put my mind at ease and said I would never have any trouble with him. She was right!!!

I think that you will find that was favour not flavour Tec.

Barbra, we could do with the rain!!

I don't bother buying any magazines - too expensive. My mother-in-law used to get them, including the English Women's Weekly. We used to sit down and do that link word puzzle together. Maybe I should get the English WW and continue on with the puzzles.

A young English girl joined our staff and I told her I missed the family atmosphere of the English pubs. I had been home for a year after two years of working and travelling in the UK. It was mid-fifties and nice girls didn't go into Australian pubs as yet. She told me her family had found one (trust the Poms to sus out the pubs!) and invited me to join them, but it was well out of town, so she rang her brother and arranged for him to bring me home. She also arranged for him to pick me up the next evening and we all went out to a dance - and again he brought me home. He made his own arrangements after that!

I buy the puzzle magazines too Barbra. Terrible time-wasters, but they keep the mind active. I love the cross-matching, and sudoku and of course, the crossword puzzles. I could never be bored.

I was home on six weeks leave - my mother, who was still only 41 yrs old, had been very poorly in hospital. Took her for a fortnights holiday to a North Wales resort, and booked into a good class hotel.
My now OH was manager of the hotel, she had a degree in hotel management. I thought she was bossy and snooty - she thought I was cheeky and arrogant.

We have been married 47 years.........

I live in the big smoke compared to you, Allan, Linda and Tec.
My suburb forms part of the "City of Lifestyle Technology" which occupies 40 sq km (4065 ha- I love that abbreviation) and had a 2006 population of just over 100,000. On the other hand my younger sister and her husband lives in a rural town in northern NSW. The first time the town I visited about 30 years ago the sign announced Population 500, Height above sea level 890 metres. Neither has changed. Or at least that is what the sign still says.
