Allan,
Have you got Berona in your house, because I can't see her here,
She is unusually late?

Night Tec.

I was wondering ever so politely if I might be able to come over with Sue?
and do you really drink out of saucers?

Sue I have a cane table for our stereo system it works very well - it was a cheap one that I got in a secondhand shop back in the seventies and when we went to buy it the owner said he had the wrong price on it and wanted to charge more. On yer bike!!

We just sold one TV come entertainment unit thing and bought a new one and a large chunky coffee table with huge drawers in it to match. Does your husband not understand about Trade Agreements - it is what keeps the economy running smoothly - that and home cooking.

Berona was having trouble with her reply button last night as were a lot of people. Mine worked fine - it is my shut up button that doesn't.

Berona Report 29 Nov 2009 21:58

Aaaahhhhhh! I'm here at last! Late getting started, then urgent emails, and now this!! Having trouble again using the Reply button. Had this trouble last night for two hours. Others had it too - Keith and Aunty Sherlock, so we were pm'ing each other until Keith worked out that we needed to hold down the Reply button for some time. This only works occasionally, so I'll make the most of it while I have it. Anyone else got this problem?

Linda - I think you got me mixed with Perse . I don't have a part in the panto.

Sue - nice to hear you got the cushions you want. Did you get me any?

Colin - Your decision not to renew is understandable. I will miss your contributions. Best wishes to you and your OH. Hope she responds well to the treatment.

Tec and Allan - good morning/evening. Are you behaving yourselves.

This reply box is jumping all over the place. Might log out and come in again. Oh darn! that takes so long!

Morning/Evening All

Up bright and early this morning.

I don't seem to be able to get into Stephen King books...bit too scary for me..lol I am reading an Agatha Christie at the moment its a few short stories which is easier for me as I don't get too read often or I fall asleep half way through a book.!!

Sue I collect Royal Doulton treasures what is the name of the set that you have? I am terrible when it comes to online buying..Problem is that I haven't been able to find a china cabinet that i like. I am after one of the oldies and only seem to find them in second hand stores but when i go back they always seem to be snatched quite quickly. There has been a few antique shows on at the moment they are always good to look and sometimes buy at.

Hi to all...hope you are all happy.

xx

Tec

I'm a very eclectic reader. I enjoy most fiction writers but also love non-fiction books. I also enjoy poetry and have the Gwen Harwood collection of poems.

Sue, and so many pages of the Thread to catch up on!

Tec

Have to say that I love to drink from cups (bone china) but there is one small problem doesn't hold enough tea...:))

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 29 Nov 2009 22:01

Perse,
No - I don't drink out of saucers - cheeky madam,
but when I was small, my grandfather did, and he had a huge moustache,
the tea used to sort of ping of the moustache.....ugh
also the slurpping noises......even more ugh.

Hi Janet,
I know what you mean about the cups, that's why I always have to have a second cup.
How are the children today? - better I hope.

Hi, Berona and Janet.

Janet - my Royal Doulton set is called Bridal Veil. It's pale grey with a white floral design and just as modern today as it was when bought in the 1950's. I am still able to buy pieces for it. I got the gravy boat off Ebay.

Berona - I had trouble with the Reply button yesterday evening. When I couldn't get on I just left it and it's working fine this morning.

Perse - I've explained to OH that I'm keeping the economy on the up and making sure that people remain employed. Only joking - OH has no problem with anything I buy for the house and it was him that found the cane table - bless him:-))

They haven't woken yet..But they seemed better last night...They only have a couple of weeks left of the school year now so and have completed their exams. Me on the other hand have my exams starting today...eck !!

How is Mrs Tec?

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 29 Nov 2009 22:09

Is it a bit of end of year blues and exam stress catching up with the boys, Janet? I was always glad when the summer holidays started- especially when they were in high school.

Janet, Mrs Tec's doing alright mostly thanks, few bad sessions, but nothing we couldn't cope with.

Good Luck with the exams - you'll do well

Thanks Tec.....Glad to hear that Mrs Tec is going okay..

Sue I cannot wait for the holidays !! Not sure what it was but was not nice the youngest had it on Thursday followed by the older boys Saturday...Hate it when they are that sick and nothing I can do. It was kinda strange tho in one way as they are getting older they are not wanting me as much but I was running from one room to the other when they are wanting me to sit with them..or be sick.!! (they are all teenagers).

I love to read and have many books. Mostly crime/mystery but I do like to read autobiographies and biographies. Its the time that I would like...maybe on the holidays..

Good morning to Janet and Berona.

Janet all the best for the exams.....I'm sure that you will pass with ease

I must apologise for my sparse contribution but I am also on the pantomime thread where I am not sure if my role is as aTroll Quasimodo a merman (Ethel) or a man in the front row wearing a raincoat!

Persey is also on there with her very dark humour!

Allan

Persephone

Persephone Report 29 Nov 2009 22:25

It wasn't just me on there Allan - I had the Coldstream Guards there with me - all night in the orchestra pit.

Hi Janet - Good luck with exams and I am glad to see that all of us on here are good readers.

Glad you are sort of up and running Berona - just keep up the training on the reply button and you will be fine 1 2 3 push rest 1 2 3 push.

No Pat, Carole, Diane or our little Aussie Belter Alison. So I will wish them well wherever they may be and trit trot off.

Persephone and her brother Vodafone.

Berona Report 29 Nov 2009 22:27

Here I am back to have another go. Worked OK this time.

Tec - you are welcome to have your cuppa out of my Royal Albert - Old Country Roses collection. I never use it, but have a display cupboard full of it! One of my sons ususally falls back on buying yet another piece when he can't think of what to get me for a present.

Sue can have a choice of that or my souvenir coffee mugs from Conwy Castle. I've never used those, either!

I tried to get into Friends Reunited from 3pm yesterday until I gave up at 9:30. Tried many different ways, but to no avail. Finally logged in this morning, and what I wanted wasn't there, anyway!

Now, this box is bouncing around again! I don't particularly like the way my day is starting! Had high hope for the day when I first left my bed - but now, I don't know so much!

I have warned WW on the pantomime thread about Allan and Persey. As she is my friend I thought it only fair:-)) WW shared a wonderful genealogy poem with me that she has written. I promised not to show anyone but it is excellent and shows what a lovely and perceptive person she is.

Where did Linda go?
