We used to have a dishwasher, but when the thing started plaing up and not draining properly we got rid of it and never replaced it.

We now find that a sinkful of water will wash our pots, then the cats' dishes, and finally be used for rinsing any tins or jars for the recyling bin

I am now living only a few streets away from the home we bought in 1963. It was a new estate then and we were 'conned' into believing that the sewerage would be through within 6 months. The estate agent even pointed to pipe lying in the next street "waiting to go in". These turned out to be stormwater pipes - and the sewerage came through six YEARS later!

People in that street now won't believe this story - but I sure remember it!
The sanitary man used to replace the pan once a week and believe me, by the sixth day, the situation was NOT funny!

Ooh, now my reply button is playing up.

Berona, the house needs to be emptied and cleaned. Dad was on 1 1/4 acres and being an old bushie, he had steel lying around - for what purpose I don't know. He was using his own trees to make coffee tables, so he has logs lying around. My sister still hasn't gone and picked up the stuff she wants. There are quite a few things that need doing, before we can sell. I just want it finished and over and done with.

It is late,so I am off to bed now.

Hope everyone is well today - been a bright sunny day in my little corner of the Empire, but perishing cold, with a biting wind.

No progress in the bathroom today, as I simply didn't feel like it, I was overtaken by an acute attack of lazyitis.

Sent messages to three possible Hot Matches - will now wait to see what, if anything, comes back......you never know.
