Don't worry Tec, I'm not a knee person or a foot person ( can't stand feet ), My favourite tickling place when I do tickle my son and most peolpe is the area above the knee, if you grip some-one there it is more of a nerve shock, or is that the area you are meaning.

Diane, spintlers are a very special part of the system!

They ensure that the water reaches the sprinklers via means of splints, a complicated part of the system!

Good morning from the frozen north. The snow is falling thick and fast here, oh goody just what we wanted!

OH is miffed because he was going to wash the car today and I was going to valet the inside. What a shame it can't be done, I am devastated.

Tecwyn Report 21 Feb 2010 16:36

Linda I am so sorry that you were deprived of cleaning the car today. Never mind, I'm sure another opportunity will come soon.

We didn't have the snow that was forecast today. There appears to be a lot more on the hills and mountains, but not at sea level. Only a few miles inland they had a heavy fall, so we seemed to have escaped that. I hope your snow disappears quickly, it becomes boring after a while. I think we have some forecast for Tuesday.

CC.......... Re the dreadful "Eastenders" soap on TV. I think we watched the first two episodes all those years ago, and never watched again. If I hear the title music it's a race as to who gets to the remote first.
When I was young I had a best friend who's family were genuine Eastenders. They lived in Shoreditch, Whitechapel, Stepney etc. We oftened travelled on a Saturday from Essex to visit his grandparents, aunts and uncles. Very often stopping all weekend. They were the kindest, friendliest people I have ever known. I almost became one of the family over the years, and was treated as such. I took some stick from them because at that time I had what was considered by them a "posh" accent, not often heard in the East End in those days. This was because of school, and years of elocution lessons, but it was never malicious, and always in good fun, if a little embarrassing to me as a teenager. A big treat for me was to go to Petticoat Lane street market on a Sunday morning. None of them had much in those days, but they shared what they had. Everyones house was spotlessly clean, and happy. They all watched out for each other, and there was never any bickering or unpleasantness. Some of them had had hard lives, and had lost everything in the blitz, but had rebuilt their lives. Most importantly, they were a happy lot, and to use an old cliche "The salt of the earth"
I really liked those people, and kept in contact with them for many years. The friend I mentioned was eventually my Best Man at our wedding.
I often wonder if people viewing "Eastenders" around the world, and in regions of this country, really believe the programme is a true portrayal of East End people - I do hope not.

I last travelled through that area about ten years ago - it had changed beyond recognition - and not for the better.

Hi Diane,
Glad they haven't pulled the plug on you yet.
No we didn't get any more snow - we were lucky. Where we went to the wedding last week is now apparently inaccessible, so just as well it was last week.

I hope you are still able to come on later. Take care

Hello all - hope you are all well:-))

I won't be on for long this morning as I have a meeting with an accountant re the problem I've been telling you about. I'm hoping that he tells us we've made a mistake and there is nothing wrong with the accounts. Too much to hope for I think.

It was a very warm, sticky day yesterday and set to be even warmer today. So I'm not looking forward to being out and about. It seems to be the exact opposite to what you all have weather wise.

Eastenders? I used to love it when it first started over here. There was a long break and then it came onto "pay" tv. Now it's a rather miserable show with a nasty feel to it. So many people murdered in one small area doesn't seem in the least realistic. However I couldn't help but join in an Eastender thread to find out who killed Archie:-)) I love Coronation Street.

Good Morning Sue,

Hope you are well today,

Meeting with an accountant eh! - well they're always a barrel of laughs aren't they? I always envisage a little old man behind an enormous desk, peering at you over an equally enormous ledger, through glasses on the end of his nose, writing with a quill pen.

Do please think of this when across the desk from him - don't giggle.

How did your spell of baby-sitting go? - happily I hope

Tec

Hello Tec. The accountant is about 35 yo, round and very witty:-)) Very different to our ideas of what an accountant would look like.

The babysitting was fun. The twins were in bed but one got up 'cos he said I didn't kiss him goodnight. So we enjoyed ourselves with the eldest as we don't see him often now he's at school. He just wants to write and count all the time:-))

Sounds like you're on borrowed time, Diane:-))

Sue I know what you mean about modern accountants, we have one living near us, flies about in a natty sports car, looking more like a pop star with a lot of hair.

Glad you had fun babysitting - make the most of this time, they grow up so quickly.

Good evening, I hope your meeting goes well Sue.

We had lots of snow here this morning Tec, it has gone of the roads but is still on the garden. I saw the weekly forecast and we seem to be due for lots more snow showers from the middle of the wek onwards. It certainly isn't getting any warmer

Allan

Allan Report 21 Feb 2010 21:23

Good morning/evening all,

Well as winter is coming to an end in the UK, but with further falls of snow, the opposite is happening in WA. This week, leading toe the start of Autumn on 1 March (which is a Public Holiday in WA) temps are expected to climb and hit 41c on Sunday. This is the Perth weather!

I also have no doubt that 'summer' will linger a lot longer.

Diane, take care and we will still keep in touch. Enjoy your time off.

CC my ironing has nothing to do with my OH. You can blame my mother as she made me help her, particularly when ironing sheets. It was also my job to iron all the hankies: no such things as tissues in those days!

It was also my mother who taught me how to cook and bake, although I could never master the mysteries of pastry making.

Sue I hope that all goes well with the accountant and even if he finds nothing wrong you have exercised due diligence.

If things are wrong it is better to find them now rather than during an Audit!

Linda I feel sorry for you and OH not being able to clean the car. I am sure that you were looking forwards to it *sniggers*

Hello to Tec and Berona

Allan
