Pain-free at last but pain didn't stop the wonderful approach Alison had to life. Always hopeful, she kept telling us to 'stay beautiful' but set the best example herself on how to do just that.

I grieve for her husband, sons and other members of her family.

Very sad news today of Ali's passing.......a lovely lady who had a positive outlook always, despite her illness.

Have not posted here recently but have followed the thread and kept up with things. My sympathies go of course to her husband and boys who she talked about so often, and also to the Aussies only... group who became her friends and gave her friendship and support.

The poem you posted, Sue, was beautiful and very appropriate for Ali.
And the words of the Eric Clapton song, Carole, always bring tears to my eyes. We should all remember that each day is beautiful and I hope Ali is now also in a beautiful place......Farewell, Ali.

What sad news, I couldn't sleep last night and spent time thinking about her, then this morning I read Sue'e message.

Ali was such a lovely person, I am so sorry that she has gone. She loved her family so much and my thoughts are now with them

I will pm you Elizabeth

Thank you all so much for your thoughts.

I have decided to make a little album with all your messages and send it to her husband. It can be something the boys can keep.

I will decorate it with her favourite things......sheep....lol

It will probaby take me a few days so any other messages are welcome. If any of you have a special memory (I got yours Linda) that you'd like her family to know about, please send it to me.

I'll keep coming back to "see" you.

Libby.

I think I'm going mad here (well, not just here...lol) but is there some way for me to search for the posts Ali wrote??? I've got through 30 pages but there are 897 at last count.....lol

I'd love to keep some of her funny, personal ones.
Thanks,
Libby.

Go to Advanced search under tools on the left hand side of the page.

In the Author put Alison
Change the Forum from All available, to chat
Move the dot from display as threads, to display at posts

That gives you all of her posts on the Chat board, which are mainly the Ausssies thread

You could do the same for the General board if she posted on there

I am, along with everyone here, deeply saddened at the sad news of Alison's passing.
She was indeed a very special and beautiful lady.
Her courage and humour throughout her illness is something I will always remember.

What we feel in our hearts is not always easy to put into words........

Goodbye Alison, and Thank You.

Hi Barbra,
How are you? A fortnight ago I did something to my back. I thought it was getting better until I sneezed this morning. I'm going to the chiropractor tomorrow.

Good morning/evening everyone.

I guess I know how everyone is feeling today so no need to ask how you all are. It is good to know that our memories and thoughts of Ali will be sent to her family. I hope it is comforting to Ali's family to know how deeply we cared for her. I truly believe that when Alison came on here she was able to forget - for a little while - her illness and fears for her sons.

Hello Pat and CC - Pat I hope the trip to the chiropractor helps with your back.

Good evening everyone, I hope that you get your back sorted out Pat as it affects everything you do. I once tore some ligaments in my back. I had been crouching down changing a light bulb in the car headlight and I twisted slightly as I stood up. It took so long to mend and of course you can't really rest it. I thought that I would have healed far faster if I had done something like break my leg.

I wondered about chatting on here tonight, but as you say Sue Ali used to come on here to chat and forget things for a while. I know that we all admired her spirit and her sense of humour despite all she faced and we will all miss her and remember her fondly. I also think that she would be saying "for goodness sake, get on with it"

Thanks Sue,
I shouldn't go on about my back after reading about Alison.

Hello, Linda. It's probably good for us to come together and talk.

Pat - you are part of our group and if you aren't feeling well then there is nothing wrong with sharing that with us. Life goes on.

Hello Libby - I didn't see you there. How are you this morning? I guess it all seems a little unreal at the moment.

I am glad that I could help Elizabeth.
Of course you should talk about your back Pat, as Sue says, we all help each other on here, that is what makes it such a nice place to be

Linda,
I was impressed with your techno knowledge. I wouldn't have clue what to do. At work I get the youngsters to help me with any computer stuff.
This site is one of my bookmarks.

so this is a group hug for you all
