CC, this was in the help section on the top of the page

If you feel that the text that is displayed on the website is too small you can change the size by using the menu toolbar at the top of your screen.

If you are using Internet Explorer 6 or lower then go to View > Text size and select a suitable text size setting (from 'largest', 'larger', 'smaller' or 'smallest').

For Internet Explorer 7 click on Page ( in the top right hand corner of the screen) and then select 'text size' or 'Zoom'. We recommend using 'Zoom'.

If you are using Mozilla Firefox as your browser then go to View > Text size and select 'increase' or 'decrease' to change the size of the text.

I don't know if any of them will work for you, without needing to scroll across the page. I don't want to try it on mine because I messed about for ages with all my settings to get the background colours and font sizes how I wanted them. As my brain is addled, I can't remember what I did, so don't want to change it.

Anyway enough procrastinating, I am off to do my exercise video. Half an hour of pure torture, but I promised my daughter that I would be good and do the sessions.

Hi Everyone,
I went to the Chiro. The problem isn't serious. It's just that my right hip joint is a bit locked! I go back on Monday.
Off out to do some shopping, then back to work!

Good morning/evening lovely people. Hope you are all well.

Pat - I'm glad you haven't a major problem with your back. Sore back, shoulders or neck can make life a misery - it makes everything you do so much harder.

Hello CC - I'm not a complete dunce on the computer but when something goes wrong I tend to call for OH. He seems to know what he's doing a lot of the time.

Good Evening/Morning All,

IE6 - IE7 ? are these pop groups, or new motorways?

Mozilla Firefox ? Terrorist or arsonist?

It's all very well for you bright young whizz kids with all this technical jargon, but to those of us raised in the pre television era, it is most confusing.

I had my bus pass when I aquired my first PC, secondhand Windows 98.
Steam and pedal powered. To send an e-mail, one pedalled faster, and opened the Steam Valve to PSI 1.5 Bar.

I found my Certificates of Competance in Morse Code of no help whatsoever. Moreover, it didn't help that my first computer had a bad attitude, and obviously didn't like me.
Messages like " Are you sure you want to do this?" "Is this what you mean?" etc etc , and then crash and go into a sulk.
Never having had a computer lesson in my life, I persevered until some of it made sense. I thought I was doing very well until the day I had cause to contact my ISP Technical Services, when I was put through to a Call Centre somewhere in the Indian Sub Continent. After 45 minutes of excruciating difficulty, I had lost the will to live, and attacked my PC with a large hammer, and binned it.
Now I have a friendly little lap-top - we understand each other and she loves her illuminated little dongle.

So please remember when you are all exchanging all this technical advice - showing off I call it - there are those of us, sitting in our caves, going cross eyed, and wondering what language you speak on your planet.

Hello Tec. I know enough computer stuff to get by. Any big problems and I turn to OH or we get the "computer people" in. I'm getting better but I can't explain to other people how something is done.

The start of today is looking good with blue skies and a crisp breeze. It's set to warm up through the day but as we head towards autumn I've noticed it's cooler in the mornings and evenings.

Today I'm off to a Volunteer Morning Tea put on by the hospital to thank all volunteers for their work. A good spread is put on but we have to listen to the managers of various departments pay lip service to the relevant volunteer groups while sneaking a look at their watches and wondering how soon they can get away. Still it's a good get together for people who don't often see other people in their groups.

Tonight I'm off with my daughter to see George Michael in Sydney. We both love his music so we're really looking forward to it. Then on the weekend I'll spend time relaxing to get over the evening out. I used to be able to stay out late and go off to work or whatever the next morning. These days it takes me a couple of days to get over a late night:-))

Good Morning Sue,
It's raining here, but not so cold.
Hope you enjoy your Volunteer Morning Tea. I suppose it is a chance to chat to the other people with a common interest, and I know what you mean about the managers paying lip service, seen that before.

The George Michael concert should be good. My daughter was a big fan of him, don't know if she still is. She had all the Wham albumns, when Andrew Ridgely ? was around.

Those were the days when you could stay up all night partying and go to work in the morning. I went to many a party in Sydney, and called a cab to get me back to my ship for 6 am, then work a twelve hour watch.
Took us both three days to recover from the recent wedding - oh well.

I think we've been deserted this morning, Tec. I meant to ask how your Duchess is. I hope she's been keeping well.

Tecwyn Report 25 Feb 2010 21:21

Maybe they're all out on the town over here, and still in bed over there.

The Duchess is reasonably ok at the moment thanks. She still has good days and bad days, but I keep a close watch, and can spot signs of trouble and get her sorted out before things get to bad.
She has an appointment with the consultant in April.

I'm here, Sue. Been here for a while, but there are quite a few posts to get through! Good morning to you - and good evening to those who are beginning to think about going to bed! Don't go yet - please.

Had my ECG yesterday. Went to the same place I have been before for blood tests, etc. and always saw lots of young women working there. This being my first ECG, I had no idea what to expect, and didn't ask questions. Suffice to say, I would have been happier to have had a female attendant! My modesty suffered a blow!

SueMaid Report 25 Feb 2010 21:38

Good morning, Berona. We certainly leave our dignity at the door when having tests or medical procedures. After having 3 children I feel that modesty is probably a thing of the past where medical stuff is concerned:-))

Hi Berona, Tec, and Sue,
I'm back home but I've just been on Facebook!
Berona, i hope the ECG went ok.
Tec, I used to know several letters of the Morse Code. My dad was a radio ham.

Good Morning Berona,

How are you getting on with the walking stick, have you learnt to drive it yet? and has it been any help to you?

Berona Report 25 Feb 2010 21:51

Hopefully, it was just part of the 'process of elimination' in checking on what happened to my legs a few weeks ago. A nuisance in some way, but also peace of mind.

Libby - we all knew Alison quite well and saw the highs and lows over the past few months, but you have known her for much longer, and personally, so I'm sure that what you do will bring a better result than that which any of us could suggest. We can only thank you very much for doing this for us.

Tecwyn Report 25 Feb 2010 21:53

Hello Pat,
Hope you enjoyed your evening, and that the cake was nice.

Interesting that your Dad was a radio ham - that still has quite a strong following, I think they had their own club where I used to live.

Got myself into a bit of a tangle with it, Tec - but found it very much a confidence-booster when taking a short-cut through a laneway to the pathologist's. Had trouble negotiating the stick, handbag, high step and heavy door into the place was a bit of a challenge. Might have to find the shoulder strap which came with the handbag - and also use the wrist strap on the stick - but I'll get there!

Linda has given me ideas of using it to fight my way past anyone who gets in my way. I have even noticed that it is a cylinder and I wonder if I could have it fitted with a trigger on the handle and a bullet magazine? It has a lot of potential! Makes me feel like a character in a James Bond story!
