Good morning/evening to all

I will have special thoughts for Alison at 8.00am WA time today.

Berona you sound as though Tec and myself are just waiting for Sue to spend a few well deserved days away with her family so that we can again go on a rampage!

Stuff and nonsense! As if!

*Now, what new Thread can I start?*

Hi Berona,
I've heard of Glenn Miller. That's about it. Sorry !

I am here Berona.

I have had a very busy weekend, so haven't been around much. We have been having a mega clear out amongst other things.
The new bed we ordered is arriving tomorrow morning,so we had to move the single bed which was in that room, down to the garage. I put it on freecycle and had several emails from people wanting it almost instantly. that is being collected tomorrow as well. I have even given away all of the bedding with it as I have no more single beds. while I was there I gave away a bedside cabinet which we don't want.
The saddest thing is that we have also given away a leather Chesterfield sofa. I was very sad to see that go because we have had it longer than we have had the children lol. When we came here we downsized, so we didn't need it, but OH didn't want to give it away then. It is silly keeping it,so I am glad to see it go to someone who will use it

Hi Berona and Tec.

Berona - once again I'll put you and Linda in charge. Your crystal ball will help as will your walking stick. I might also get CC to help out. I think she'd do a good job keeping the fellas in line:-))

Tec - I love Big Band music and I have a couple of CD's that I listen to often. We're all Queen fans - how could you not be:-)) OH and I also like the Red Hot Chilli Peppers.

The tsunami caused a 14 cm surge in the water level in Port Kembla which is 15 minutes from us so no problem there. I would love to have gone and had a look to see if it was noticeable but I get annoyed with people who don't heed warnings so we decided it wasn't a good idea. I was more concerned about Tania and Persey but all is well with them thank goodness.

Of course I have heard of all those bands Berona,(frets, does that make me old?) I like swing music as well

Wow everyone turned up as I was typing and posting. Hello!!

Linda - I too am in the process of clearing out. Our spare bedroom is becoming a junk room so I need to sort a lot of stuff out. We are going to have a built in wardrobe with lots of storage space put in. A new bed and a smaller bedside table rather than a chest of drawers will make the room look neater.

LindainHerriotCountry Report 28 Feb 2010 21:26

We have built in wardrobes in all the bedrooms Sue. It is amazing how much stuff you can pack in there which you don't actually need.

i went through the one in our room today and discovered sets of curtains and bedding which we will never nee again, so now I have a large pile of things to take to the charity shop. It does look bare now, but no doubt i will find things to fill it up

I'm not old Linda - Berona said I wasn't old, and got cross when I said I was ancient.......so you must be a bright young thing compared to me.

What about an "Allan's Barmy Army" thread Allan - we have to do something while Mother's out of the country.

When you've all finished sorting your houses out, will you please come and sort this one out..............

'Stuff and nonsense' is what YOU will be getting up to, Allan. we know you too well and will be ready for you!

SueMaid Report 28 Feb 2010 21:48

I will have to have a full report Berona:-))

I love how Tec quietly eggs Allan on - "What about an "Allan's Barmy Army" thread Allan - we have to do something while Mother's out of the country." Let Allan do all the mischief while you sit and grin at the trouble he gets into.

Good evening Tec

That thread has a good ring to it

Allan's Law of Cluttered Houses

Things accumulate in direct proportion to the available space to be occupied and in inverse proportion to the energy of the householder in throwing things out

Berona Report 28 Feb 2010 21:50

Tec - Sue isn't leaving the country. She is going to Tasmania. It's a state of Australia! Just as well we don't have any Tasmanians on this board. (or do we?).
(***hides and waits for any reaction!****)

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 28 Feb 2010 21:53

Well I guess Tasmania is overseas. If the sky is clear we can see when we leave the mainland and then when we arrive over Tasmania. It's only a 2 hour flight.

Sue,
I was not being devious - it's just that Allan has pulling power, while I am unknown on the boards apart from here.

Allan I like your Law of Cluttered Houses, I shall remember that.

Good one Allan - I'd have to agree with your Law of Cluttered Houses:-))

Still waters run deep - so so true, Tec:-))

Ooh if you are going to Tasmania Sue, you can look for OH's convict.I lost track of him in 1848.

Judging from his records Allan, you are probably correct. he was a bit of a bad boy

Allan

Allan Report 28 Feb 2010 22:10

Linda, in Australia there are no bad boys: they are all a 'bit of a character'
