Berona's very late today.........

Do you think she's been rumbled too - lurking furtively!

Goodevening Diane.

I'm sorry to hear that you are not feeling the best. I suppose that the weather is not helping, either.

Tec my daughter is in the market for a decent food mixer: I may go with her to help her choose!

How did you work out that I'm really Guy Burgess in disguise?

I'll have to go back to MI5 and re-train. My brother reads a lot of true spy stories and enjoys telling me about them. However, he insists on referring to it as M-15 (fifteen). I have tried to tell him - even shouting MILITARY INTELLIGENCE!! but to no avail.

Don't ask where I've been. No internet, re-boot, urgent emails, then it took me ages to catch up even though I was up to date last night! I asked you people not to talk so much - takes me too long to join you!

Good evening everyone,

Diane I hope you feel better after your tablet kicks in you are a braver person than I am, going out in the cold at that time in the morning. It was really cold overnight, I kept waking up and having to put my arms back under the duvet. We have just been on cinema duty and walked home. it wasn't quite as cold because it is raining again.

The story about your mum was funny Sue.

I am glad that your plumbing is now fixed Tec, I was considering some nice perfume for the thread!!

I see that our Thespians are in fine form again.

Goodevening Linda. Are you questioning my sexuality? :0))

Goodmorning Berona. Having spent 14 years in the UK Army Reserve I think that I can safely say that Military Intelligence is the biggest oxymoron ever

Tec, picking up on what you said earlier about new Museum in Liverpool, I watched flogit yesterday and it was done in Liverpool, my friend was on it selling a cat perfume bottle, in the programme they discussed the new museum and about what was going to be in it, some of the thing's is a carriage from the overhead railway ( The Docker's Umbrella ) and a old steam engine called The Lion Steam Locomotive, and the first Ford Anglia off the assembly line at Ford's new Halewood factory in 1963.

I haven't been to Liverpool for a while Diane. My sister used to live at Eastham woods on the Wirral just opposite Liverpool,so we used to get the ferry over. My children liked to go to the science museum

Good Morning Berona,
I just knew you were involved in something fishy.
We have an excellent spy series on tv here, called "Spooks"
All about MI5,MI6, CIA etc. Do you get it there?

Good Evening Linda,
I was trying not to sit too near laptop, so as not to offend.
Hope you enjoy your new laptop, wouldn't be without mine.

I haven't got it yet Tec, I just had an email to say it has been dispatched though. I need to buy a wireless router before I can use it. I have been bidding for them on Ebay, but keep getting out bid. if I don't get the next one, there is a decent "buy it now " price,so I will go for that. I may have to wait until Christmas for my son to set it up for me. I will see if I can do it myself, but we shall have to see,

Diane Report 1 Dec 2009 22:37

Linda you would see a lot of differences looking over from the Wirral now, the skyline has changed a lot over the past 3yrs, first thing to notice is the new Echo Arena on the waterfront then there is the nearlly finished Liverpool Museum, and then further along on the left as you look over from the Wirral are the New building's that I think are an eyesore along side the (Three Graces), them being The Liver building, The Cunard Building, and The Port of Liverpool Building. The eyesore's I refer to are new appartment building's and one of them has a big square block plonked on top and look's like it would topple of if it were pushed.

Linda,
My PC was in my room at the top of the house where I keep my books etc, but apart from being cold up there in the winter, it wasn't practicle as I need to be around these days, and it was quite isolated up there. So I bought the laptop, and can now use it in comfort in the lounge.
Haven't used the PC in ages.
My router came free from AOL when I changed from dial-up to broadband with them,

I think I have seen Spooks advertised Tec, but haven't actually watched the show.

Allan

Allan Report 1 Dec 2009 22:42

Berona, I have seen a few episodes of Spooks.

It used to be on a Monday night on ABC but has currently finished.

What I am looking forward to is the return of 'My Family' tonight on ABC.

I can really relate to that family!

Isn't it a shame Diane when they spoil the look of places. I know that there has to be progress, but the older buildings were so nice that it is terrible to see them hemmed in with trendy apartments.

This pc is in a nice warm room Tec, it is just that on an evening, it would be nice to be able to sit in the lounge with OH while I chat to you all.

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 1 Dec 2009 22:45

Diane,
OH watches Flog-It, that's where I saw about the new museum. I also saw the cat perfume bottle sold.

Like Linda, it's a long time since I was in the city - I worked in and around the city for a month once - spent the month lost, although I had an A TO Z

Linda, that's why I prefer Fremantle over Perth.

Most of the old buildings in Perth have been demolished ad replaced with a plaque saying "This is the site of....." It is so depressing: wheras in Fremantle they have preserved the old buidings and even though their use may have changed, the fabric is still there

Berona, New series of Spooks currently on tv, will get to you eventually I expect......I don't watch much tv, but I do like that

Tec, if you ever visit WA you would throw the TV out of the window. With very few exceptions most programmes are c**p. Mainly repeats of so-called American comedies

Tec as much as I am proud to be a Liverpudlian and love a lot of thing's about it I hope one day to go home to my birth place in Wales. The other big improvement here is the new Liverpool One shopping area, and now that it is finished is a thing Liverpool should be proud of. Cat Bottle my friend sold, didn't she do well, £50 for a 10p buy from a church fete, I have a Cappi-de-monte 15in Figure of old man on a Beer Barrel with a jug in his hand which I bought from a Christmas fete about 21yrs ago it cost me £1-50p, if i'd known about flogit at St George's Hall I would have gone and got it value'd.

Linda it was so cold going to work this morning I had icicle's on my nose from my nose running Uuk, just jokeing lol
