Perse,
I did absolutley nothing in Tenerife. I loved it. i read in the sunshine, drank endless glasses of cocktails, cups of cappucinos . I met an old school friend in the evening.
I'm sorry it's all so boring but I just totally chilled out and I found it hard work getting back into the real world again!

Good Morning Sue, Hope you're well today,

I haven't seen the Salvation Army Band for years either, but I expect they are still to seen in the cities.

They are having carols OUTSIDE the village pub this year...

Who's idea was it to be outside in this weather?

Tec,
I think they might be in Exeter over the week end but I haven't seen a Salavation Army Band since last Christmas.

You are sooooooooooooooo lucky to do that Pat,

When my OH and I go away - we pack so much into our trip - we travel all over the place - bit like the song 'I've been everywhere Man' I am amazed that we fitted in a couple of visits to my friends last time we were over in Victoria. He also found a SecondHand bookshop brochure and so we did the trail of going to all of them and he was very pleased with himself as got a book on the Wollemi Pine. We stay in NZ time on his mobile and Oz time on mine.. and we get up every morning NZ time so we are out and about before the locals. Tiredness doesn't really hit you until you lose the two hours on the flight back and then your brain crashes.

Perse,
When I've been away with my sister and brother in law, I've done trips here there and everyehere that and I've come back home shattered!

Good Morning Allan,
Sounds like you had a great day out yesterday - so what's to be seen in Mandurah?
Are you on stage today?

Pat, your holiday sounds just wonderful - what are holidaysfor other than to "chill out"

Pat - that sounds like heaven. Just what we did on our holiday except we didn't sit in the sun. At 35+ degrees that would've been silly. We read and drank red wine and chatted in the evening with people whose names we didn't know and who we'll never see again. For a couple of hours they were like old friends.

Sue,
That sounds very hot. It was only about 25c so it was just like a summers day! I've never been anywhere that hot.

Ouch

I was going to come back to this thread anyway, because some one has really lowered the tone on the Panto thread.

Quite an achievement as it started out at rock-bottom!!

Qu.....sorry! Allan

PatriciaAnn Report 3 Dec 2009 21:49

Allan,
What panto person were you?
I don't really read any other threads except the word quizzes and the uninteresting thread!

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 3 Dec 2009 21:51

And who is this person who has lowered the tone, Allan?

Good evening Pat

Take your pick: I have multiple personalities

So far I am playing A troll, Quasimodo, Buttons, A sleazy man in the front row wearing a raincoat.

But somehow all these characters become intertwined.

I'll be glad when the panto season is over

Sue,

I think WW started it and then like Persey's sheep the others all followed.

There was ONE exception, of course

Good evening/morning everyone. I've been here for a while, but you have said so much that I have been busy reading!

One word to the ladies - I don't trust these sleazy men in raincoats - better to keep behind them - don't let them face you!

PatriciaAnn

PatriciaAnn Report 3 Dec 2009 22:07

Hi Berona,
When I think of men in raincoats, Columbo comes to mind!

Berona

Berona Report 3 Dec 2009 22:08

I wasn't thinking of Colombo, Pat. He's a good man.
I was thinking of the other kind!

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 3 Dec 2009 22:10

Good Morning Berona,
How are you today?

I don't even own a raincoat..........just a waterproof jacket

Tec

Allan

Allan Report 3 Dec 2009 22:14

Good morning Berona

Better to face them and Know what they are doing, than to have them behind you and be worried sick!
Tec Mandurah is a large city on the Peel Inlet so we went to the City centre which is basically on the coast and just had a mooch aroun and then went to Cicerrello's for Fish and Chips.

Cicerrello's is a big fishing company which operates Fishing boats and also two Fish Cafes, one at Fremantle and the other at Mandurah.

Very basic but very nice. No plates the meal comes wrapped in paper and there is plastic cutlery for the non-traditionalists.

We then returned home via the scenic drive which runs for about 15 kms along the shoreline of the inlet.

We used the 'old' road which was absolutely deserted following the openeing of the new Perth to Bunbury Road last month
