Thanks Tec, I have more time to procrastinate over writing that letter now.

Good morning Sue. I like things clean and tidy, but I am not obsessive about it. I just had to stay in the house today because I was waiting for a delivery, which didn't come,so is now bound to turn up tomorrow afternoon when no one is in.

Good Morning Sue,

Hope you are well and skipping today.
There is a thread on here today regarding a report that has just been published concerning modern skin and health problems in children. According to the report many problems have arisen due to the clinical conditions of modern life. It makes interesting reading. Apparently allowing children to get mucky, and dig in dirt etc is essential to their well being, and exposes them to helpful bacteria.

Hello Pat, I am glad that you are better. I always seem to get a cold bug after I come back from holiday. I blame the recirculated air on planes, but I don't know if that is just a myth.

I think I read somewhere that the air is drawn in from outside and heated

Good morning/evening all

I will only be on here for a short period of time,

We are heading to Mandurah to do some shopping and as it is a good hours drive to the North we will be leaving early.

Pat, I/m glad that you are over your cold

Linda,
I think I'm allergic to hoildays. I got a cold after I came back from I.O.W!
I also read somewhere that a bit of dirt is good for you!

SueMaid Report 2 Dec 2009 21:22

Tec - I've heard that theory before and I agree that children should be allowed to play outside in garden and get grubby. The grandkids help their grandad in the veggie garden and get filthy to their mum's despair. Normal good hygiene is all that's needed.

Pat - sorry you've not been well but glad you're feeling better now. Could also be the change in weather that's made you ill.

Linda - I get manic every now and then and go through the house like a whirlwind. As you say - doing the jobs that don't get done often. I had a look for a misplaced key on top of the fridge the other day and nearly fainted when I saw the dust on the top. When we took out the old lounge suite I was surprised to see how much dust was behind the settee. It was a big one and I have to admit I rarely pulled it away from the wall.

Berona Report 2 Dec 2009 21:23

Good morning/evening everyone! Hope all are well and happy!

Tec - how much dust can you get on the furniture when you are at sea???
(probably cigarette smoke!)

Allan not back from his walk yet, or is he busy chatting up the ladies on another thread? We really need to watch him!

Is our Alison about yet? Hope she is feeling OK to-day.....Diane - you too, dear - take care.

Hope your duchess is feeling good to-day, Tec. - and you, too, of course.

If I've missed anyone, I apologise - but I haven't really got motivated properly yet. Still waiting for my delicious breakfast to settle! (high fibre cereal and skim milk - isn't that exciting?). Think I will blow the diet and have a piece of toast - wholegrain of course!

Allan Report 2 Dec 2009 21:25

Linda, I enjoy Christmas as a season even though it has become very commercialised, but I have never really been of a one for receiving presents.

OH and myself have now reached that stage that if we need something we buy it when the need arises.

As for presents from the Children well they have enough expense without throwing us into the melting pot.

Well yes, Berona you did miss someone - ME. You're forgiven because we both posted at the same time but do try to remember in future:-)))

Is everyone else sick of hearing about Tiger Woods and his transgressions? Oh and the lovely ladies who are coming out of the woodwork and are quite happy to cause so much distress to his wife and children.

Good Evening Pat,
Sorry to hear you've had a cold, but glad to know you're getting better now, seems to be very fashionable at the moment.

Good Morning Allan,
Hope you have a successful shopping trip, and find what you want, drive carefully, watch out for vengeful wheelie bins on the road.

Linda, When I was young, we played in bombed out houses, amongst the dirt and rubble, waded in filthy streams, coming out with legs covered in leeches - and were mucky most of the time - and we had no bathroom, so it was a tin bath once a week in the kitchen - being the eldest, I was last in the bath........no - don't think about it too hard...........ugh.
But I grew up unscathed and healthy.

I'm sorry Sue - I realised that as soon as I posted. Good Morning to you and to Allan too. Ah - I see Pat's here too - good evening to you.

What's this about an Undress Rehearsal? Sue - I think you'd better get back over there. I told you that Allan needs to be watched!!

Allan

Allan Report 2 Dec 2009 21:36

Berona,

The Town Hall is empty at the moment.

It must be my mac, the buttons keep coming undone.

At this rate I'll be able to play another character....Flash Gordon. or with my looks, Flash Gorgon!

Good Morning Berona,
You are a vision of loveliness this morning!

Is that my wholegrain bread you are eating?

and yes - there is dust on ships - it is strange isn't it?

When you get to our age (ancient) I think it is very difficult to think of things to buy for each other,so we go away for a nice hotel break on our birthdays instead.
We have never gone over the top with Christmas presents, some people seem to spend an absolute fortune on them.

Pat you definitely sound like my sort of woman. I don't bother about fashion either, as long as I am comfy and don't look like a bag lady lol
