Hello Diane.

This afternoon my brother and his wife came and stayed for tea. My son has his Wii game console here,so he was playing with my brother. That didn't suit SIL, but if it hadn't of been that It would have been something else, she is that sort of person. They have gone home now. As soon as they went OH went straight to bed, he is not well, poor old soul.

My son and his girlfriend are happily playing with the Wii, while I am on my laptop.. I hope you are having a restful evening.

Have they managed to sort your shifts out yet so you don't have to work every day?

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 26 Dec 2009 20:27

I have never had turkey fritters Tec, what on earth are they?

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 26 Dec 2009 20:41

Good Evening

Diane......The helicopter flight date is yet to be arranged. They send a voucher that is valid for 12 months, then you have to notify them 28 days before you wish to fly. You can also arrange to fly over your town/village/house if you wish. The flights are from March to September.

With regard to your quest for a wealthy old man or a toy boy. I have a couple of candidates locally that you might consider.
Elderly millionaire, unattached, VERY big house, and another in Florida.
then there's a Batchelor farmer, mid 40s, bit rustic, could be tamed.
Any good?

Linda, Hope your OH is sitting up and taking notice, and that you had a good time with your son, and enjoyed the gastronomic creation you concocted today for your brother.
How are you getting on with the laptop?

Tec

Pushes Diane out of the way in the dash for the elderly millionaire

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 26 Dec 2009 20:47

On the other hand OH might not like that,so I had better not go down that line

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 26 Dec 2009 20:48

Turkey fritters were something my mother used to make -

thick slice of turkey breast, covered in batter, and fried, usually served with chips...........

Revolting......but the others enjoyed them

I'd quite like the elderly millionaire too:-)) Can we share? He'd be in 7th heaven.

We're off to the shops before long so I can stock up on wrapping paper and cards for next Christmas. It's the only way to do it - half price or less:-))

I doubt I'll eat again for quite awhile. Just the mere thought of food at the moment is making me feel bloated.

I've enjoyed this Christmas although I have to say that the fact that my sister didn't bother to pop in to see us while she was down this way hurt for a little while. I wish I could get used to her off-hand manner but we used to be so close and I miss that very much.

I thought of you, Linda while my mum was with us over Christmas. She drove us mad at times but thinking of you made me aware of how lucky I am to have her. She always enjoys being with everyone and really loved watching the children open their presents.

Get lost Linda, or I'll tell your OH,

Tec- the elderly millionaire sound's good to me, must have some life in him still, haveing a place in Florida, as for the farmer, as long as I can just do the usual household dutie's and not muck out, he seem's a candidate too.
I suppose you are going to wait till better weather come's along for the Flight and then she will be able to have a better view from up there.

Linda there is no one else to do any shift's just little old me works for the family, it has alway's been that way since I started the job but when I first took the job on his dad was healthy and alive, but 3yrs ago he became ill with cancer and was unable to help his wife with the care of their son which is when I stopped haveing the bank holiday's off and now that he has died she can't manage on her own.

Good evening/morning everyone. Tec - I'll have the elderly millionaire - don't let Diane get him. I could bump him off and then we could get our cruiser!! No more buying tickets!

Hope you liked the pastel blue nightcap and socks. They should keep you warm now. Allan will need to keep his until the weather cools down a bit, but I'm sure he will enjoy them too.

Reading about all the menus for Christmas, you have all given me ideas that I want to try - and I'm not hungry. Still getting over Christmas Day! Must try this curried egg salad of Alison's. I've found a few recipes - might try them all!

If you look in, Alison. Have a safe journey home and talk to us again when you get there!

Good Morning Sue,

Good luckwith your bargain hunting - we do that too.

The wealthy old man is looking rather frail as it is - with you lot sharing him he would soon be in heaven - full stop. Then you'd all be squabbling over the money!

Poor old millionaire. There he is sitting in his posh lounge, drinking his posh port and smoking a very expensive cigar totally unaware that a group of ladies are fighting over him - and not because of his devastating good looks:-)) Oh Tec - what have you done.

Good Morning Berona,

The night cap and the bed socks are just the job, thank you so much. I am particularly delighted that they meet and can be fastened together - very snug. The colour is perfect, except that my eyes are brown, so pale blue doesn't really go - never mind - they do match my nightshirt!

How could you have such wicked designs on such a nice harmless old guy?

That poor old man - you lot tearing him apart.

I shall have a job keeping a straight face next time I talk to him,

Berona Report 26 Dec 2009 21:31

OK Diane - You can have first crack at him - but don't wear him out until you check his Will. I don't mind how we get our cruiser - I'll stand down if you can afford to pay for it - as long as it's big enough for all of us!

Good morning Sue - you posted while I was still typing. I know what you mean about family passing through and not bothering to look in on you. They might be pushed for time, but it still hurts. Glad your Mum enjoyed watching the kiddies open presents. I love watching them too.

Aren't the big stores going crazy? Myers opened here at 5am on Boxing Day and stayed open until midnight. They must have had people working on Christmas Day to bring the stock out of hiding for the Sales. I actually received an email from Woollies on Christmas night, with this week's supermarket and liquor specials on it! They don't miss an opportunity, do they?

Hello to all.

Sadly I'm thinking of quitting this Thread. It seems to be heading down a very unsavoury path!

All the ladies squabling over a poor old millionaire: Tec aiding and abetting you all by arranging for him to be kidnapped by helicopter, while all the time deluding the poor Duchess into thinking that the flight is for her.

And as for Berona "Ok Diane- You can have first crack at him- but don't wear him out....."

I'm still blushing! Iam such an innocent in life;

Ah me.

You wouldn't catch ME acting like that on any thread I post on!!!!!

Tec - I think the pastel blue would highlight the brown of your eyes. I went for contrast! I'm sure they look lovely with your pale blue nightshirt.
I can't stop thinking of this old rhyme - Wee Willie Winkie.....
