Hello All

The word for today is HOT.
Have the air con on already !

Will be staying inside today. Time to watch a good dvd I think or we often play cards. I have seen Notes on a scandal and enjoyed watching it. Last night I watched Secret Life of Bees also a good movie. Australia I thought was a tad too long but the scenes with our Hugh in were lovely..:)

Diane you must have read my mind lol. I am looking a treadmills to buy/rent for the coming new year. I actually was a member of the health club awhile ago and only went there and did 20 mins on the treadmill a day and felt great...but I have lapsed and the weight has piled on :(

Janet - you make me feel guilty. I have a treadmill and haven't been on it for days. Now, I'll have to make up for lost time and Christmas food!

I left the thread for a while, then came back and it stuck on the wrong page - made it look like everyone stopped posting at 21:00 (UK time). By the time I got it right - everyone HAD gone to bed!

Hello everyone:-))

Sue..The red shoes sound nice, are they flats? I nearly bought a pair the other week, they were red patent flats with a slight point they also had a bit of a bow at the front. I agree.. you now need a new bag to go with the shoes:-))

I am reading the new Bryce Courtney book its called The story of Danny Dunn, I'm about a quarter of the way through and I can see its going to be another of his waffle on books. Anyone who reads his books would understand what I mean!!

Its a beautiful day here today, about 26c. I am leaving soon to pick my daughter up from Ballarat. She has been riding and jumping horses for three days, so I expect she will be sore and glad to get home.

I went shopping this morning, I am trying to upgrade our TV for the new digital type but I'm having trouble with the dimensions of the set because we have a TV cabinet built into the wall next to the open fire place, which is a pain!!!

I am glad you are having rain up there in NSW, Sue and Berona..enjoy!!!!
I hope you get some relief from your heat, Janet and Allan...Our weather is supposed to heat up by the end of this week and I'm not looking forward to it at all!

Stay well everyone, take care:-))

Hi Everybody,

Well, we got back safe and sound. It sure was lovely sleeping in my own bed. My sister has rung twice since we got home.

I'm still vomiting off and on. Have lost about 9 kilos, so not happy. I have a Herceptin treatment on Thursday. I have suspicions that I'll be whacked into hospital to be fed up.

Hope you're all well and happy. Will pop on again at some stage and see what's happening.

Berona Report 28 Dec 2009 05:17

Hi Alison - We've all been thinking of you and hoped you had a good trip home. Nothing like your own bed, is there? I can imagine you've lost weight with all that nausea - might be best to whack you into hospital and fatten you up! I know we all hate going to hospitals, but they are the best place for getting proper treatment.

What is the weather like up your way? We have actually had rain in Sydney and nice temperatures over the holiday period. I woke up to rain this morning and didn't recognise the sound - it's been so long since we had it heavy enough to make any sound on the roof! However, it has stopped and everything is drying out again. Up north in NSW, they are beginning to get floods - and it's hot over in WA. Makes us realise what a big country it is, doesn't it?

Please keep us informed and let us know how you go on Thursday. We'll be waiting to hear how things go for you.

Persephone Report 28 Dec 2009 05:57

All the best with the treatment Ali - you are probably right that they will try and get your weight up - Makes you want to get your own" weights up" at the thought of it. Do they do such things as day stay or night stay? Sort of like shift work - I know they do something like that here and people spend time with friends and family inbetween. The hospital to improve your weight and the warm fuzzies to improve your well being.

Thinking of you

lots of hugs
Perse

Hello Alison - so nice to hear from you and to know you are home safe and sound. Come down to my place my love - I'll fatten you up:-))

Nice to see you too Janet although you sound hot and worn out. Best place to be in an air-conditioned room. We've been watching Top Gear on the telly and although it's not usually my thing I've become almost as big a fan as the fellas. That Jeremy Clarkson is very funny:-))

Carole - yes my new red shoes are flats. I don't often wear high heels these days although I love them. Definately a new bag seeing as Tec suggested it. I absolutely love shoes and bags - they are my weakness.

We had a very quiet day today. I only popped down to the shops to buy something for tea. I resisted buying half price Christmas chocolates.

There's nothing better than sleeping in your own bed!
I hope you will be feeling better soon:-)

We made it back from Ballarat with a very sore and sun burnt daughter. We stopped along the way for a meal in a little pub called the Red Lion they make the best Chicken Parma.(sp)

Goodafternoon/ morning all
Hi Alison, good to hear from you hun, hope the sickness stop's soon and that you start putting weight on and not off lol. Yes it is good to be in your own bed no matter how comfy strange bed is.

Hi Berona, Perse Carole, Sue Janet, hope you all had a pleasant day, it's as bad in Aussie as it is in UK with the weather, the extreme's in the weather that we are having.

Hi Barbara, nice to see you pop in.

The annoying neighbour was up all night with all his mate's until about 7am this morning, Fortunately they stayed in living room so I managed to get my sleep, I think that was because they all went out at around 12-30am and returned about 45min's later which ment I was able to get to sleep and stay asleep till I woke to go the loo at 5-50am, they were still up talking but not as loudly so I fell back to sleep for another hour which is when my alarm went off. Unfortunately my son was not as lucky as me and was kept awake until he threw a shoe up to the ceiling, apparently one of the couple's were in the bedroom above his and doing what couple's do. We have made a note of the date's, time to report ( yet again ) to the houseing. I got my own back ( just a little ) when I came home from work at 3pm I went into my bedroom and put a CD on very loud lol, I knew he was in bed but he wasn't there for long as I heard him get up, I left it on for about 30min's and then my son put a DVD film on with a lot of base noise for about 2hrs that ment if he tried to go back to bed he would not be able to get to sleep again, HE HE.

I will speak to you all later when you are around.

Good morning/evening, friends. I hope you are all well.

Diane you have a wicked mind - but I like it:-))

The sun is out this morning - sort of. Still lots of rain clouds but enough blue sky to make a beautiful morning.

We had a bit of a scare yesterday evening. We heard on the news that about a bad accident in the area our daughter and family are holidaying. I won't go into details but it was very nasty and 2 children died in the crash. Normally I don't panic but it was on the road near to the camping ground they were staying at and it worried us. Daughter warned us that mobile phone coverage was erratic and of course I couldn't get through to her or her partner. Around 10 pm we received a message from her partner saying that they thought we must have heard about the accident and be worrying about them so he thought he'd walk to an area where there was coverage and let us know all is ok. Of course then I felt bad for a family who is going to get such devastating news. Such sad things happen.

Persephone Report 28 Dec 2009 20:54

Yes Sue - I always feel for the families of people that die in these accidents and also get very annoyed with those that speed and drink-drive and it often them that obliterate a family and survive to cause havoc on the roads again. There are often repeated offenders up before the courts and they appear to have no remorse for their stupidity.
Gets down off soapbox. Π Perhaps I should wander over to the shopping thread - let's see which pair of shoes shall I wear for the occasion?

Diane - glad that you have taken this approach - have you ever taped their nocturnal goings on and played it back to them at full volume... perhaps give a copy to the housing people so they can also hear what you have to put up with.

Hi Pat

Glad to see you - what do you do, that is what sort of job. Lots of our office workers don't go back till Tuesday - as Monday is treated as a hol because day after New Year's day is a Saturday if that makes sense to you.
Am off to do have brunch and do the grocery shopping so will talk to you either later or tomorrow.

Good evening/morning everyone. Sunny morning here - hope the cloudless sky heads your way, Sue. We expect a top of 28 to-day.

Diane - go get 'em girl! Keep reporting them until the dept. gets tired of your complaints and does something!

I've just had two successive nights with leg cramps - all night. Haven't had them for a long time. I used to be able to buy quinine-sulphate tablets for cramps, but no longer available without prescription - and my doc is on holidays! I would love a few hours sleep, but as soon as I lie down, the cramps start. I'll have to sit down and watch TV - that usually puts me to sleep - and with the current rubbish we have on our TV here, it just might work!
