Berona,
You mentioned a store called Myers. In the 60s I knew a Lady Myers, she came on a Pacific cruise. All I knew of her was that she had a large store in Melbourne, didn't know there were others. Famously brought her own wine on board which had to be served at precisely the right temperature - or else - and was a trial to the wine waiters.
Could she have been connected to the store you mention, was a long time ago mind?

Right Tec when can you plan my first date with ( what's his name ) the sooner we get thing's rolling the sooner we can get the Cruiser, and by the way I'm sure he will buy such an irrisistable women a Cruiser and join us on the trip, I wasn't the one who was up for seeing him off, it was other's on here, I'm not that callous lol.
By the way has anyone seen Allan yet, he's not been around today as far as I can recall?

Good Morning Allan,

I do seem to be bringing out the worst in the ladies - I can't imagine them fighting over us, can you?

But then neither of us are millionaires - all we have is our charm and personality - good looks,

worthless without money

Good morning Allan. Hope you haven't forsaken your wheelie bins. However, you haven't offered us a better solution on how we are to get this cruiser. We are paying for it in the amount of tickets we buy - so we are beginning to resort to other measures! You should recognise who I got the idea from. Maybe one of us could start as his carer - and there you have it - Diane's a natural. Go for it, Diane!

Tec, I'll have you know many women have fought over me....I was the prize for the looser!

A very great incentive for ladies to try their d*mndest to win :0))

Hello to Berona, Diane and Sue

Diane, yesterday was fine, mainly just relaxing although we did walk over to the local shopping centre as this year it is the first time that shops have been allowed to open on Boxing Day.

The centre was nearly deserted as only the Supermarket was open. Wrapping paper and all Christmas items 50% off but as we still have heaps of wrapping paper left we didn't bother.

Just came home with a lettuce........................which was strange as I went over there with my OH!!

I'll have to go back today to see if I can find her

Berona, as to the cruise liner I'm buying a ticket for next Saturday's $30,000,000.00 lottery jackpot.

If I am the sole winner the boat is ours!

Or, at the very least, I'll shout you all a trip to WA and we shall all stay at the Esplanade Hotel in Fremantle!

Sue, you really must get that cough seen to :0))

As much as I enjoy the job I do now, it was never my choice as a job under normal circumstances, let me explain, I cannot cope with people being sick as it make's me rench, I can't cope with changeing dirty pad's ( sorry just explaining ) so it is not a job I would do normally as I wouldn't be any good at it . The reason I am able to do present job is I never have to change pad's ( his mum has alway's done that ), and whenever he has been sick I have had to leave room, sad I know but I have alway's had a touchy tummy that way even when my kid's were sick I used to be sick with them YUK, sorry too much information I know, and anyway Berona if I was to meet this man it would not be as a Carer ( he can well afford to pay some-one else, I would like a little TLC myself .

They've just done the Saturday lottery and I only got one number - so it looks like Berona is right, desparate measures are called for - but I couldn't condone murder of unsuspecting wealthy old man.

Somewhat disappointed that the batchelor farmer has had no takers - nice enough lad, could do with a good women behind him though.

Bye Allan,

Enjoy your day - not to much work though, it makes me tired.

Tec

Berona

Berona Report 26 Dec 2009 23:02

Tec - yes, that's the same one. Myers of Melbourne took over Grace Bros. of Sydney and somewhere along the way, the Hordern stores were involved too. My understanding is that there were a couple of marriages linking them, as the families were the socialites of both cities, then just plain Big Business. They all come under the name of Myer now - and I've seen clothing there with Marks & Spencer labels on them!

Diane had better take the millionaire. She wants to have a bit of fun with him - where I just want to get my hands on his money. No, I'm not interested in the farmer - I'd find myself up at the crack of dawn collecting eggs and milking cows - nor for me, thanks! I know what these farmers are like!

Diane

Diane Report 26 Dec 2009 23:04

Bye Allan speak to you again soon.

Tec- if you read my first post on the matter I did actually say as long as I only had to do usual household dutie's and didn't have to muke out on the farm then I might be interested, and on the matter of MURDER I never once said that was my intention in fact I said I would have him come on the Cruise with us. How could you think I would contemplate murder. Tec I'm surprised at you thinking I was capable of such a thing.

Tecwyn Report 26 Dec 2009 23:09

Berona,
As I recall the store Lady Myer's was connected with was called "Myers Emporium" the name amused me for some reason.

That farmer has no chickens, about 2,000 sheep, and a herd of black cattle, quite a big holding. A girl could do worse.
You wouldn't be short of knitting wool, but you'd have to spin it

Tec

Berona

Berona Report 26 Dec 2009 23:19

Diane - you'd better take the millionaire because I only want to bump him off and it's not something I do often. I would have to find a way to do it and I might get caught - then I wouldn't get to go on the cruise!

Tec - I haven't been to Melbourne but I think it might still be named that way. Perhaps Carole can correct me on that. Here in Sydney, it's just Myer - but there are a few of them - one in each big shopping complex.
I also don't follow the financial pages, so I have no idea who owns what these days.

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 26 Dec 2009 23:20

Diane,
I'm sure you couldn't murder anyone, not even for a fortune - but you could get him running up and down the mountain every day, just for the benefit of his health you understand!!!!

As for the farmer - well the poor guy works all hours, up before dawn, out 'till dark most days, and not to put too fine a point on it, a clean shirt occassionally wouldn't go amiss. Are you any good at rounding up sheep?

Tec
