I know our Australian sheep-shearers are well known for their skill, but I'm not one of them. When I think of sheep, I think of what hangs off the back end of them, stuck to the wool.....No thanks.

Berona,
It's amazing when you see all the famous names on the High St around the UK, and then discover that many of them are all part of the same chain, but trade under different brand names.
They all seem to get swallowed up by bigger fish. Talking of which, recently Kraft made a hostile bid for Cadbury, that was turned down, but I think it will happen.

Well Tec. Looks like it's only you and me and it's your bedtime. I must get my legs moving - I've been sitting here for quite a while - but hey! it's Christmas time!
Hope you and the duchess keep warm. Sleep well. Talk again later.
Goodnight.

Maybe one day, one giant company will dominate world trade, maybe even a World Government over all countries. Already we in the UK bend to the rules made by foreigners sitting in Brussels.

Well it is gone midnight here, so I must away to my bed.
Should you look in Alison, I hope you had a good journey home, and that you enjoyed Christmas - take care.

Goodnight my friends

What a sad state of affairs this thread is getting into and I quote from Berona (who I always thought of with such deep esteem and respect)
"I only want to bump him off and it's not something I do often"

Not something you do often????

Anyway how is your little dog Sue - been on any more little outings? I did a giggle when you gave the description of your little dog's return and Tec said he gets home like that - not that I envisaged him in a bedraggled state it was just the thought of him crawling through a hole in the fence.

Very quiet here this afternoon - so am able to finally get to the computer.

Hi Alison - hope you are feeling a lot better and getting ready to cheer the New Year in.

Love to all

Persey..

Hello all:-))

I hope you managed to get some sleep Diane ;-)

Hello Perse:-))

Last night I stayed up late and watched the movie "Australia" I'm not a fan of Nicole Kidman, now Hugh Jackman on the other hand is a totally different, that man is a hunk and a half mmmm.
The film was brilliant, especially the part played by the young Aboriginal boy, I would recomend anyone that's interested to watch it!!!

Our day today is a little overcast and smokey 28c, I have no idea where the smoke is coming from, but there must be a fire burning somewhere?? Dont worry we are used to it:-)

Linda..How is your new laptop? Are you finding it a lot different from your computer? I'm still getting aquainted with mine and am still finding it a bit stange. I suppose its like anything new!!
I hope your OH is getting better, give him plenty of TLC and keep him warm:-))

Enjoy your day everyone:-))

PS: Thinking of you Alison, you will be glad to be back home.

Hi all:-)) Well that's Christmas over for another year. We went shopping today and it was a little mad but I got some great bargains. Best bargain of all - a pair of red leather shoes down from $50 to $15.

Carole - I don't like Nicole Kidman either but Hugh Jackman. Mmmmm.

Janet I hope you and your family had a wonderful day and it wasn't too hot.

Our weather over the last few days has been dull, wet and cool but still very humid. Daughter and grandchildren have gone down the coast for a few days camping with her ex sister in law. Apparently the weather isn't good but hopefully it will clear up. Either way I think the children will have a ball.

I think I'll have a glass of wine and some chocolate:-)))

Greetings to you wherever you are,

Yes Sue, Christmas is over for another year. Very strange for us as we were not at all organised this time. It was a bit like a train arriving at the station, and not being ready to get on it. We had no visitors anyway, so it didn't really matter. Red handbag now then?

Perse - It is not so unusual for me to look bedraggled these days. Today for example, I am having a bad hair day, got up this morning and my hair was standing on end, and it won't lie down. Wurzel Gummage came to mind. Even the dog gave me a strange look. I was also surprised to learn that sweet Berona has homicidal tendencies!!! I blame those books.

Carole I will try to see the film "Australia" if I can get it on DVD - I do rather like Nicole Kidman, you'll soon get used to the laptop, I prefer mine to the PC because I can use it anywhere around the house.

Janet, I expect you have now recovered from all the eating, and now ready to do it again - hope you are well.

Hope everyone else is well, catch up with you later maybe. I'm off to make coffee, and enjoy another slice of lemon cheesecake, that has now outstayed it's welcome.

Goodevening/ morning all
Let's not talk about men today, after the text I got off my eldest son I am off men, ( that doesn't include you 2 Tec and Allan ).
Well my upstair's neighbour's managed to keep me and my youngest son awake most of the night GRRRRR.

Berona- to answer your question NO I didn't get much sleep hun,

Sue, that was a good bargain you got with those Red leather Shoe's, do you have an outfit to go with them or are you going to buy one.

Hi Janet, so is it a diet for you now after all that food lol.

Well Perse I did try to get some shuteye but only about 2hrs as them upstair's were very noisey with their laughing and talking till about 7-30am this morning, by which time I was already up to go to work.

Tec, you poor thing, it is a nuisance when your hair won't lie down lol put some brilcreme on it, it alway's work's for my dad. Did you not see your daughter over Christmas Tec.

Hi to Allan, pat, Carole, Linda, Lynda and if your looking in Alison hope I didn't miss anyone, if so I'm sorry, hope Christmas went well and that you are ready to celebrate the coming New Year, at least that shouldn't be so busy, no running round for last minute pressie's, just enough booze to drink lol.

Berona Report 27 Dec 2009 20:57

Good evening and good morning everyone! It's raining here! Real rain! I have seen so little of it over the past few years, it looks very welcome. A bit treacherous for those on the roads - particularly the young ones who are not used to allowing for weather conditions - but very welcome as far as the gardens and water supply go. It has been a strange four-day break - pleasant temperatures, not too hot and now rain. Doesn't feel like the Christmas period!

Diane, I don't know how you manage to get up and go to work after the late hours and disturbances you have. You'll have to say something to your neighbours - they won't improve until you do. Obviously thoughtless people!

Tec - it must have been hard using up that leftover cheesecake (?). I wouldn't know. I never have any cheesecake. Never have any left over, that is. I do have one in the freezer - unopened. As long as I don't open it, I won't indulge, but once I do open it - that's another story!
