Hi Linda

Thank goodness you can see me, I was a bit worried there for a while:-))))

I'm glad you made it back home, did you manage to buy anything or are the shops closed?

Night all,

Frost has finished and it's 1am and I am off to bed.
Will catch up with you all tomorrow night or will that be morning? Or maybe the next day depending how late we are out and about tomorrow.

Yes Linda I saw what they did to the boards and where we put our names - and that is when I thought I would fluff it up a bit at Christmas time and got told numbersandlettersallrunintogether. Bit like Pollyfilla - no more gaps.
What I don't understand is why they did that to your name and Carole's when Hayley, Rach and others still have zippee bits around them.

Night all from the Night owl.
Keep Warm Diane - Tec - Linda and Pat.
Stay cool Aussies.

Persey

Hi everyone,
I've managed to get my broadband back. The phone socket is still in my room so a friend suggested why didn't I plug the phone and router in the socket even though it was on the floor. It works!
I don't think I'll be going very far today.

Hi all who are awake and hope you are all in the warm.
I am sitting here fully clothed with dressing gown on as well, the flat is so cold. I have gas fire in living room full on and a convector heater on in the hall though it doesn't seem to be makeing much difference. I'm having to boil all water for washing dishes as it is normally heated by the gas boiler I can use the shower to get washed by filling up the sink with the shower spray attachment. Now I know how the polar bear's and penquin's feel lol.

Linda if I didn't have to venture out to go to work I wouldn't so I have to say you are brave going out to shop's in this weather hun, I dread to think what would happen if it snow's again here, the path's and road's are like a sheet of ice as the council are only griting the main road's.

I hope they come to fix the boiler on Monday Diane. Will someone be able to be there all day on Monday? What happens if they come while you are at work?

It has been snowing on and off all day here, so I won't be going out until Monday afternoon.

Diane

Diane Report 9 Jan 2010 17:16

Hi Linda
my son will be in all day so that isn't a problem and if they haven't been by the time I get home from work I will ring them and give them a kick up the backside lol. I have just spent the last 30min's putting old sheet's over the floor board's that arn't covered with carpet as below my flat is a hairdressess that hasn't been open since new year's eve and that is were most of the draft is coming from. I don't blame you staying in now till monday, if I wasn't at work I would stay in till all the snow and ice was gone, the way thing's are going that could be until spring lol.

Good Morning / Evening Everyone,

Linda - I do hope you warmed up after chomping off to the shops in all that snow - I can't walk anywhere because it's too far, so have to use the car. Fortunately once I'm out of my road, the main road is not too back. There are several areas of black ice that need to be negotiated with extreme caution (hold breath, and hope for the best)
We are expecting more snow tonight and tomorrow.

Diane - You do have my sympathy in that flat with no heating - can only imagine how cold that must be. Can't you both go out and sit in a pub for the evening - you don't have to drink yourselves under the table, buy a drink and make it last, at least you would be warm.
Plan B - Attack the man upstairs with a big stick - get arrested - the cell at the nick has to be heated by law - again you would be warm.
Seriously, I hope they come on Monday to fix the boiler - I should phone them first thing to remind them - just in case.

Hi Pat,
Glad you've got your broadband back -- no matter where it is so long as it works. Do you like the newly decorated bedroom? is it finished yet?
Tonight seems colder than ever here in Wales, and they say we're having more snow tonight and tomorrow.
I feed the birds every day, and buy a big sack of wild bird seed for them. Lately we've had a squirrel join them most days, but today I was watching from the kitchen window, when a huge rat appeared, also eating some bread I'd thrown out, ugh.

Goodevening Tec PMSL hun, yes I will be getting on to them again on monday but will give them till I come home from work and if they haven't been I will get on to my new found friend in the council who is P****d off with our houseing because of the way they have tried to fob me off over upstair's complaint and get her to get them shifted.

Hi Pat how's you hun, keeping warm I hope.

Well upstair's are in making a racket already, if it goe's on to late I will ring the Police and make yet another report, I know they won't come out but at least it will be another log number to give to the council on my record they have given me to keep until monitoring equipment is put in place.

Hi Daine,
I'm trying to keep warm!
No Tec, The bedroom's nowhere near finished yet. At the moment it's just bare floorboards on the floor and plaster boards on the wall. Everything is in the spare room and I can't find a thing!
I'm not sure how long it's going to take but it'll be nice when it's finished.

Berona Report 9 Jan 2010 21:36

Good evening Poms. My sympathies with the cold you are suffering. I don't dare tell you what we expect to-day, but I'm getting things done early so that I can stay in with the air conditioner on.

Where are my fellow Australasians? Sleeping late because it's Sunday, I suppose.

Pat,
I keep saying that about this house.........
"Not sure how long it will take, but it'll be nice when it's finished"
Been saying that for 15 years.......
Hope your new bedroom doesn't take that long!

Diane......Have you got a gas cooker?

Tecwyn Report 9 Jan 2010 21:52

Diane -
If you shut yourself in the kitchen with the door shut, and the cooker on, you'll soon get warm.
My mother used to do that when we were small and she had no coal in the winter............gets really warm.

Diane Report 9 Jan 2010 22:04

Yes I know that but I wouldn't be able to post on here hun.
I have my all day clothe's on and I also have my long dressing gown on with living room fire full on, I'm not to cold except for my feet, but I have put load's on the gas meter, have gone threw about £45 since the 30th Dec.
