Diane, I think Allan may still be away in Freemantle, don't know what's happened to Sue though.

I don't believe that you are defenceless, or an idiot, and you've been to the Isle of Man -I haven't. I do know where Taronga Park is, but as it's Berona's patch, I think she is more qualified to explain.

OK so I'v been somewhere you haven't but I'v never been outside the British Isle's, so I am ignorant to were places are in other Country's lol.
I forgot Allan was off to Freemantle, I do remember him saying he was going though.

Well I think I will have an early night before that lot upstair's get's to rowdy as there are about 4/5 of them up there.

Goodnight all , enjoy your day all the rest of you if you pop in.

Berona Report 9 Jan 2010 23:37

Yes Tec - Manly's still there and still the same as far as I know. Very popular beach.
Sorry Diane, Taronga Park Zoological Gardens is our main zoo. It is situated on the cliffs, spilling down to the harbour. It has every kind of animal in it and their surroundings are as close as possible to their natural habitat. At present, their first Australian-born elephant is attracting a lot of attention running around under his mother and the other adult elephants.
With the usual kiosks/tea rooms, etc., it's a lovely place to take the family for a whole day.

Helllo

Hoping for a cooler day today as I am off to the markets for some fruit and veg. Although some of the shops are open I find the markets cheaper and their produce is much nicer.

Hope everyone is enjoying their day so far and those that are sleeping are sleeping well..

Good morning/evening all. I'm off early this morning as we have to take son's car in for a service. We're both going so I can bring OH back after he drops off the car. When I come back I'll tell you all the silly reason why I didn't come on yesterday:-))

OH has to take our car in for it's MOT test tomorrow. He is going to walk back. It is about twenty minutes.

It has been warmer here today Diane, four degrees all day which is positively tropical compared to what it has been, so I hope that you have been warmer today.as well

Persephone

Persephone Report 10 Jan 2010 20:52

I had a really nice day out yesterday - it was supposed to rain according to the weather forecast but the met office must've changed their minds as the rain is here today.

We had lunch at a rather packed lovely little place in a small township called Coatesville. Stopped for an ice - cream on the way back at this marina that I did not know was there - it is even a ferry terminal for the locals to get to the big smoke (Auckland).

Been keeping an eye on you Brits - see all the much needed salt being delivered for your roads.
How do your birds cope with such icy weather?

Off to make a plunger of coffee and do the crossword and then I will pop back.

Perse.

Diane Report 10 Jan 2010 21:09

Hi Linda glad to hear you have been warmer today, it was warmer here too but don't know what the temp was just know the ice was slippier because snow on top was starting to melt a bit, but we had a bit of a wind which made it quite cold when it blew.

Perse your day out sounded good hun but the thought of ice - cream made me shiver. A lot of people put food out for the bird's with a high content of fat for them, you can get it in most super-market's in ball's and hang it in container's or tie string to the nylon mesh they are in.

Hello Perse, I remember the concept of going out, but we haven't done that for the last three weeks.
I am glad that you had a nice time. The coffee sounds nice, I take mine with milk but no sugar thanks.
