Hi Pat, I didn't realise there were so many coffee addict's around, I don't mind tea every now and then, but the first drink in the morning has to be a cup of tea with a ciggy before I head off for work I don't know why but I just don't fancy coffee when I first get up. If I don't drink coffee all day then I do have a tendency to get head-aches.

Allan maybe that is what I heard on the new's then.

Good evening Tec

Yesterday was cool here and today is forecast to be cool as well, but by the weekend back up to 40c.

My daughter and I went crabbing yesterday morning, something we haven't done for years: it was great even though we didn't get any crabs. There were plenty about but all under size

Oh Dear Sue

That is not silly at all - I find that often we go out in the sun and don't drink enough fluids. Coffee only dehydrates one some more and is of no help. I find I get headachey - and know now that I need to have water. I don't drink nearly enough of the stuff apparently, you can see this by the way my the upper part of my hands are quite wrinkly and if you pull the skin it does not spring back like it should. I have been like that from when I was quite young. I never think to order water - but OH always gets one when we go for a coffee.
I hope you are feeling a lot better now - and take care next time you are out for more than 1/2 an hour - make sure your head is covered and you have water.

Doctor Perse.

Good evening Tec - hope you are well to-day - even if a little cold!

Sue - Now it's my turn to tell you to take it easy! I sent an email to daughter and suggested that if she wishes to take me to my doc, perhaps she would like to make my appointment to suit her time. I received a reply within minutes - 11am tomorrow!

Keep feeding the birds Tec - but tell the polar bears and penguins to go home!

Oh dear Sue, I hope you don't do that again. That is the equivalent to us walking out in the snow in sandals and shorts.

It is definitely thawing here tec, but we are forecast more snow showers over the next few days

Diane

Diane Report 10 Jan 2010 21:55

Goodevening Tec, hope your snow doesn't come our way, I'v had enough of slip slideing to work lol.

Goodmorning Sue ( again ) poor you something us brit's have very little chance to suffer from even in the summer ( when we have one ) lol.
You may need to wear a hat in future when doing gardening.

You go out in your shorts and sandals in the snow Linda and you will be on our 6 o'clock news...

They love daft stories.

I'm so pleased you have at last got an appointment with the doc Berona, I sent the Polar bears packing, but the penquins can stay - I like them.

Sue you could catch many things in the UK at the moment, but sunstroke would not be one of them.

Perse, I can eat ice cream at any time, so wish I had been with you on your day out

Linda and Diane and Pat - What say we all buzz off to Oz and risk getting sunstroke.

It was silly because I'm old enough to know better. We were so careful with the children too - making sure they had enough fluids and hats and sunscreen. I'll know better next time - I won't offer to help in the garden:-)))

I've just booked a room in a lovely hotel in Victoria - a place called Portsea on the Mornington peninsula. We have a family wedding to go to the first weekend in February. Yesterday I spoke to my OH's cousin whose daughter is the bride and she told me that some members of the family were coming over from the UK for the wedding. I'm sooo excited - a little more so than OH I think. I love family get togethers and there is nothing nicer than a wedding.

Tec,
I quite like the idea of a bit of sunshine!
However I think I would get told off if I went missing from work as it's one of the busiest times what with tax returns having to be done by the end of January!

Allan

Allan Report 10 Jan 2010 22:02

Tec, it depends on which part of Oz you go to

In some areas you may just get rusty!!

Although I do see that there is a total fire ban in place for Victoria today with a Catastrophic Fire alert for some areas.

Diane - not a case of 'may need to wear a hat' here - anyone who doesn't wear a hat whilst gardening, is crazy!

Tec - The penguins are cute, aren't they? So polite - and such little gentlemen too - always well dressed.

Allan

Allan Report 10 Jan 2010 22:05

Sue, I hope that the weather is cooler for the wedding, although the Brits will probably enjoy it!

Diane........

I am definately not going all the way to Oz in a Viking vessel - we would have to row all the way - and we would look rather silly in those helmets with horns our heads.

Personally, it has to be a very big Boeing - Business Class

Berona, you may need to talk to my OH!

She never wears a hat but does try to work in the shade whenever possible.

I've talked to her 'till I'm blue in the face but to no avail, nor even a veil!!

The hotel sounds lovely sue. We always go away for birthdays. OH's is in a weeks time. We have put off deciding where to go because of the snow. We don't want to have to drive if it is still really bad,so we may delay it

Here is a link for the area we will be going to. We've been that way a number of times. In Sorrento you can take a car ferry across to a town called Queenstown. It's a lovely trip from one lovely town to the another. It was once a very posh area and there are still some beautiful old mansions.
