I think that there is still plenty of life left in us yet, well maybe just a bit of a spark lol

Have you done anything exciting today?

SueMaid Report 13 Feb 2010 10:16

It's been pouring all day so not really. I dragged all the pot plants under cover out into the rain to give them a good soaking.

Don't knock the rain, I remember that last year, you would have killed for it.

We have a standard holly tree in a pot by the front door, it is under the canopy,so we have to drag it out into the rain as well.

I am not sure if you use the "standard" form for plants in Oz. It is where a plant has been grafted onto the top of a tall stem. they usually do it to roses, so you get a tall bare stem about four foot tall, then the rose is grafted onto the top of that. The one we have is a holly bush, just four foot of stem with no leaves, then a small holly on the top

Yes we do Linda. Mostly roses but I've seen it done with a wisteria and that was really nice when in bloom. I'm not good with roses and being near the coast we have a lot of problems with black spot.

Berona

Berona Report 13 Feb 2010 11:00

Hello ladies. Just looked in before closing down for the night.
Pouring all day, Sue? Not here, although parts of Sydney have been flooded. I think it must be rubbish and dry leaves blocking the drains!

We got close to the forecast for "Thunder Storms". I heard thunder in the distance a couple of times, and one or two flashes of lightning - then a five minute shower - nothing heavy, but at least I could see it! Not that fine mist we have been getting. It is still sprinkling on and off but it has been dry for most of the day, so I still had to water my pots. Hopefully, watering them will cause it to rain properly. It's now very muggy here. Talk to you tomorrow. Sleep well.

Good evening thread.

I wonder if Tec behaved himself at the wedding. I hope the Duchess didn't have to give him a whack on the head for misbehaving

I hope that you are feeling better today Sue.

Where is Diane? I am missing her

I shall sit here patiently and wait for Berona to get up because she promised that she was going to talk to me today

Hi Linda,
i spent most of the day tidying up etc an di moved my clothes in my new wardrobe. I didn't feel like cooking tea so I had fish and chips from down the road.

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 13 Feb 2010 20:51

Hello Pat, we don't have fish and chips very often because OH isn't keen. I do like them once is a while,as long as I have mushy peas as well

PatriciaAnn Report 13 Feb 2010 20:53

I think it's the first time I've had them this year. It made a nice change.
I hope you are ok.

The thought of food sent me into the kitchen to make some coffee. Good job I did because I had forgotten that i had put a loaf in and it was ready.

I am fine thanks, have you finished all of your decorating now?

Berona Report 13 Feb 2010 21:21

Good evening ladies. Am I the first of the upside-downers to emerge? Nice to know you are well, Linda and Pat.

Rain!!! We had rain!!! Quite a downpour at 1am. I knew that would happen when I watered my pots! However, as usual, it didn't last long - but I could hear it on the roof. It's still very cloudy, but at least, the humidity has dropped. Our maximum temperature is forecast for 26 to-day. That should be nice if the humidity stays down.

How about you? is your temperature rising? I hope so. Otherwise, I'll send you some of ours.

Good Moring Berona,
Saw parts of Sydney on TV news that were flooded - I just hoped you'd got water wings

Berona Report 13 Feb 2010 21:25

Oops - didn't see you there Tec. You can't decide which suit to wear? And I thought only women were like that????

Let the duchess choose for you. She will no doubt make the better choice.

Linda,
The work is going to start on the living room next Monday/ Tuesday.
I think it'll take about a month to do. Each person has his own job.
After I've paid for the living room, I'll start saving up for the kitchen.
