Janet, Insurance for young people is horrendously expensive but does gradually reduce until, in the case of my two, they hit 25 when it really plummets.

Hi Everyone,
I never learnt to drive. Luckily I live on a good bus route and now I'm too old to learn!

Never too late, Pat. I have a neighbour whose father had a stroke a few years ago and is unable to drive. The mother learnt to drive at the age of 68 because she didn't want to rely on anyone for transport. Still driving at 72.

HI Allan and Pat

My two oldest are the age for driving but are too busy with study and sport to think about the licence. (which suits me I am in no rush :) lol)

Hello Pat

And please all, do NOT draw any inferences from the fact that my first car was as weak as dishwater, nor the fact that my current vehicle is only a four cylinder model :o))

Aah you have me there Sue lol

I hope that Tec has enjoyed the wedding. Perhaps the Duchess made him renew his vows

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 14 Feb 2010 22:05

I think the Duchess may have made him renew his vows to behave himself before he walked out the door:-))

I must be off for awhile - daughter wants me to meet her at the doctor's so I can watch the kids for a little while. Hopefully I'll be back before you all go.

I am off to spend quality time with Oh, not that I have told him yet!

See you all tomorrow

I'm just going to have a "poor me" moment

Yesterday will be one to remember for all the wrong reasons!

Not only did OH lose the small diamond, but one of the cats went AWOL.

We had planned on a BBQ dinner and defrosted the steak etc but by the time we had scoured the immediate vicinity of our place there was still no sign of it.

My daughter phoned and OH told her about the cat (it is my daughter's favourite). Next thing daughter is at the house and helped OH search in a different area. Cat found, safe and well!

By this time (it was about 7.00pm) no one felt like dinner so all I had to eat yesterday was a plate of fried rice left over from Saturday.

Bl**dy romantic or what?

Berona Report 14 Feb 2010 22:29

Is there anyone left to talk to? I have been here, but got side-tracked answering emails.

Just a word on the young ones driving. I think there are some good TV flashes which show what can happen as a result of speed, alcohol, etc. However, I feel that these are seen by the wrong people. Just how many of the young ones actually look at these? Most of the young drivers are not at home to watch TV. They have car radios, but don't listen to anything but their favourite type of music - words go over their heads.

I think these warnings should be shown in the schools to the 15-16 year age group, so that they are made to watch them, then perhaps they might absorb some of it and hopefully it will still be with them when they learn to drive. Perhaps they should be tested on what they are shown too.

Good morning Allan. What is your weather like?
As Sue said, only one and a half hour drive between us and strange how our weather can be exactly the same at times, but when it comes to rain - so different! In other parts of Sydney (only twenty minutes from here) it can be quite different!

She had rain yesterday, where it was dry all day here. It did begin to rain in the evening and throughout the night, on and off - never for more that a few minutes at a time - and this morning we have very little cloud and plenty of sunshine. However, we also had 95% humidity at 9am - and that isn't good!

Hi Barbra.

Berona, still no rain here in the SW although last week the Great Southern Region had severe storms with some property damage, but nothing like the recent storms in Sydney.

Temps still hot, but now taking longer to reach the max, so we don't need to crank up the a/c until midafternoon: and the nights are cool
