Berona Report 14 Feb 2010 22:51

Hello Barbra - Nice to hear from you.
Sorry - my cooking days seem to be over. However, I would have been able to give him something out of my freezer. I cook for six people - eat one fresh and freeze five - so that's five times out of six that I don't have to cook! I really wouldn't have minded warming something up for him.

Don't let him fool you though. He is probably telling us whoppers. I'll bet he got the whip out and made his OH cook him a gourmet meal - and gave the cat some as a 'welcome home'. I'd like to know if his OH got anything to eat?

No - nobody seems to have heard from Alison and we are all very concerned. She last said that she might go into hospital to see if they can 'fatten her up'. I hope that is what is happening, as I do feel for her having all this illness - it all seems so unfair.... I hope we hear about her soon.

Allan Report 14 Feb 2010 23:06

Berona, OH also had a plate of left over fried rice. We had that at about 1.00pm to "put us on" until later when we were to have the Barbie.

I am also very concerned for Alison and hope that any set back is only temporary.

Diane is also becoming a cause for concern

Just looked in to check you're all behaving.

I am so tired today - can't cut the mustard anymore obviously.
The Duchess made it to the wedding, and we had a really lovely day.
Stopped for lunch on the way in a nice old country inn that we used to go to often years ago.
The wedding was a rather grand affair - Grey top hats and tails, lovely old village church with bells. Most of the villagers turned out to watch I think.
The bride and groom arrived in vintage cars, separately of course, and the bride looked sensational in a white dress embroidered with thousands of crystal beads, and a white faux fur stole/cape. The vicar was fun, and not at all stuffy. The service was in English and Welsh, and did go on a bit I thought.
The Duchess was a witness at the signing of the Register.
The reception was very well organised in a big old country house/hotel with very nice grounds. Champagne and canapes on arrival , followed by a jolly nice meal.
The speeches were fun, and very witty. Lots of guests had come a long way to attend, from Hong Kong, Singapore, Canada, and the States.
The evening ended with a spectacular firework display in the grounds.

All in all, a splendid time was had by all, though today the Duchess and I are in minced pieces after a very long day, and a long drive home.

Good morning/evening all

Tec the wedding sounds like a scene form a film, very grand. I'm pleased that apart from tiredness Mrs Tec suffered no ill effects, and that she enjoyed her role as a participant in the proceedings.

CC the jewel remains elusive, perhaps Indianna Jones has paid us a visit! We'll get some estimates from local jewellers for the various options.

Good Morning Allan,

Hope you are well, and haven't worn your knees out looking for that diamond - what a shame to have lost that, very annoying.

We are a little recovered from our wanderings thank you. I was so pleased OH was well enough to go in the end, she had been rather unwell the day before with reading of 23 on her blood sugar test, and she so enjoyed seeing all her rellies, some not seen for a very long time.

I find driving on very narrow dark country roads in the rain very tiring now, and get eye strain from the headlights, and it took 21/2 hours.
Poor old soul - getting past it LOL

Good evening/morning everyone. Bright and sunny here with a forecast for more showers and a top within the twenties. That means it won't rain where I am, but it might reach 30! No mention yet of humidity - it seems less than yesterday.

Tec - sounds like it was a lovely wedding. Wow! Top hats and tails?!! Please tell me you didn't wear your safari suit!!!??

Allan

Allan Report 15 Feb 2010 21:51

Tec, you're not on your own.

I now find driving at night a chore. WA now has mandatory reporting of certain medical conditions before renewal of Driving Licences, one of which is diabetes, back came my licence endorsed "suitable visual aids to be worn whilst driving. I've been wearing my glases for years now for night driving and was already wearing them during the day for all but the shortest journeys. I try to avoid night driving if at all possible.

Good Morning Berona,
Hope you are well this morning,

No - I didn't get away with wearing the safari suit after all. The Duchess, and my bossy daugghter ganged up on me. I wasn't even allowed to wear my most comfortable suit either. Was talked into wearing a suit I dislike very much - a good suit made by Christian Dior, but I've never liked it.
Why can't the sisterhood mind their own business - I would never get away with telling them what to wear - can you imagine?

Tec - you probably looked quite handsome in what you wore - much better than you would have looked in anything else! We women know these things! Trust us.

I think I may go for glasses for driving Allan, I only have reading glasses at the moment. I used to have varifocals, but at the last eye test two years ago, the optician said I didn't need distance glasses, just reading glasses. But I think my eyes have deteriorated as I'm having terrible trouble reading small print.

Good morning Berona,

I didn't see you post and had just popped over to the 'Friends' site

Berona Report 15 Feb 2010 22:15

Hi Allan. Do you mean Friends Reunited? I keep looking in there, but nobody seems to know what to talk about. Whenever I do post a comment, it either doesn't get answered for a couple of weeks (or months), or not at all. Two of us arranged to visit a chat room at 8:30 (UK) on a Friday night and it happened ONCE. In fact, there were quite a few of us there - but I have checked into that site every week since at the same time - and have never found anyone there!

One man keeps asking to be my friend and I agreed once, but he was sending me the address of a church, not far from me, where he said I should visit. Turns out, he's an evangelist and has joined so many groups, he makes comments, then doesn't get back to anyone when they answer him. I removed him as a friend, and he has sent me another request. This time, I'm ignoring him. You meet all kinds on the internet!

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 15 Feb 2010 22:19

Berona,
Yes, you do meet all sorts on the internet - there's me for a start!
but at least I wanted to take you dancing - not to church!
