Berona

Berona Report 13 Feb 2010 21:33

Tec - the flooding can be caused by the fact that certain parts of Sydney are very old and the stormwater drainage is no longer sufficient to cope with the population using it - also, we have dry weather for so long, that the drains become clogged with rubbish, causing blockages. Where I am, much more planning went into the development of the area more than fifty years ago, so that if there is any flooding, it is short-lived and able to abate very quickly.

Valentine's Day. How nice. No flowers yet, but it's only early. I'm still awaiting delivery of the flowers which Allan sent me months ago!

I hate to tell you Berona, but I don't think that he really sent them. anyway I thought that Tec was turning up on your doorstep with roses and chocs

Hi Pat,
Sounds like you'll be living in a palace in the end,

I've never heard of a church wedding on a Sunday before, most vicars wouldn't consider it.

Berona, I was "advised" which suit to wear - good enough reason to go my own way.

Hello everyone. Thanks Linda - I'm still headachy but I don't seem to have a full blown cold so I can cope....just. Don't tell OH that 'cos he bought me a cuppa in bed:-))

Berona - it has rained all yesterday and through the night and it's still raining now. I have so much to do in the garden including planting some strawberry plantlets that have grown from a basket full of plants. I've also taken a load of little offshoots from my orchids that I need to plant up.

Good evening/morning to all

Happy Valentine's Day to all the Antipodean Ladies.

I'm not being discriminatory by the way, it's just thet it IS Sunday in the South whereas it's still Saturday in the North.

CC thanks for those web sites, I'll have a look at them. I've tried the National Archives thread previously but find it complicated. My alcohol ravaged brain just cant seem to get to grips with it!

Good Morning Berona

The flowers STILL haven't turned up?
I remember specifying how important they were and the were to go on the fastest mail-coach.

One of the horses must have died!

I hope that you will be staying on line long enough to wish the northern ladies happy Valentines day Allan. If not, we will sulk and you wouldn't like that

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 13 Feb 2010 21:44

Sue, you had lot's of applicants on your outcasts thread

PatriciaAnn

PatriciaAnn Report 13 Feb 2010 21:53

Allan,
perhaps one of the horses ate the flowers?

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 13 Feb 2010 21:53

Hi Pat - just a summer cold but I thought I'd get as much out of it as possible:-)) Sounds like your home is looking beautiful.

Linda - I didn't realise how many outcasts and idiots there were on here:-)) That was fun wasn't it?

Tec - I've never heard of a Sunday wedding. I do hope it goes off well. Let the Duchess pick your suit - it's so much safer:-))

Good Morning Sue,
and Allan,

I haven't read the outcasts thread, but rather fancy being an outcast if there are any vacancies Sue.......

Allan....... If I deliver red roses to all our Northern girls, will you do the same for the Southern Belles?

Tec

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 13 Feb 2010 21:55

I think that is al lovely idea Tec, although Allan gets the short end of the straw given the distances he will have to travel and the fact that there are more southern ladies

Allan

Allan Report 13 Feb 2010 21:57

I'll do my best Tec, but I can almost hear Berona's hysterical laughter from here!

Linda as I do not wish to upset any psters on this thread I shall indeed stay on to wish all those in the Northern Hemisphere a Happy valentine's Day :0))

Berona Report 13 Feb 2010 21:59

Allan - what can you expect when you only put a lousy one cent stamp on them?

Linda - I don't think Tec will be turning up on my doorstep until he wins the big one, and that might take a while yet.

Allan

Allan Report 13 Feb 2010 22:00

Linda I obviously made you an offer you can refuse ;0))
